Going up Snoqualmie pass and driving down to lake keechelus early in the morning for some snow fun if anyone is down. Gonna do a fire and enjoy some cold ones.

looks like a blast! I'm jealous - I'm on week three in a row in the air. At least the middle week was for personal time
I will agree the Duratracs are great in the snow. I had terrible luck with them on wet pavement though...

So far they’ve been much better in the wet than any set of KO2s I had. But I’m sure when the tread wears down tires won’t perform as well. I guess I’ll have to buy a new set every 6 months. Wife says thanks…

Haha, just took my duratracs off for the winter, replaced with studded nokian hakka lt3. Duratracs for sure slide in the rain on pavement, roundabouts are fun. I think studded duratracs in the winter would be a good compromise on/offroad, possibly slide worse though. Hard to beat duratracs offroad or in deep snow of course. I am curious how these nokians are in deeper snow.

Got a picture of them on the truck? I might be in the market for winter tires very soon

Not the greatest pic, just put these on recently. Wore out the blizzaks which are very good but only available in 32” and 33” sizes. These nokians are 315/70r17 and I believe about the biggest snow tire you can get (and match my duratrac size/spare). So far are quieter than other studded tires I’ve had. Handling has been good as well on wet concrete which was surprising, thought they would slide more.

I miss my Duratracs. Had them on the old 2500HD and they worked in pretty much all weather. I'm just too cheap to replace the Michelins that came with the truck. Given the Tundra only gets 6-7K miles a year it could be a while.....:(

I am kinda in the same boat with replacing the OEM tires... I just rolled 7500 miles and I got the truck almost 18 months ago. That said, while I have been going into the office a couple days a month forever, our return is officially slated for tomorrow. Bleh.

Anyone have actual experience with the Open Range from Les Schwab? Everyone I speak with loves them but I don't know anybody with a Tundra running them. I know they are more, but LS has been good to us (sponsor my kid's TKD team) and my wife drives by 8 per day during her commute so paying a little more for piece of mind is ok by me.

My dad just got them installed on his Ram 1500.
Can't speak for the longevity but they look solid in person. Nice looking tire with great tread depth. He says they ride quiet and smooth.

I had the Open Range on my SUV before I bought my Tundra. They were great in all conditions and never had any issue rain or snow. I paid the extra fee for LS to add more siping. Not sure it did anything really but seemed like cheap peace of mind to gain the touted benefits.

I have Open range's on my work pickup. They're P-metric and ride pretty good. Good in rain, light snow and ice. I haven't done any offroading in them tho. Pretty quiet too.

Hey guys, I need help diagnosing a nasty creak on my 2.5 DC front end.
Anyone know of a local pro or shop I can go to ?
Down to drive an hour radius, can bring beer, pizza, or even pay for your time.

So far; removed skid plate, un-installed diff-mount spacers, greased with Teflon spary all u-joints, bushings, mounts. Alignment shop + Kirkland Toyota couldn't find it either.

Interesting TofK couldn’t find “something” to charge you to replace.

I’m not aware of any gurus in the area…shops or otherwise. As much as I dislike Les Schwab, they do lift kits and other suspension work on the regular. Might have the skills needed to chase your issue. Or maybe 4WP in Lynnwood?

Sure it’s coming from the front?
    Happens over bumps, dips?
Recently or started after work/part upgrade?

Well, took one for the team and put them on. My 6 mile report is they are quiet and ride as expected. Look much better than stock, though I hate the chevrons on the sidewall.

    LT.

They come in 4-ply and 10-ply. These are 10.

FWIW…. The factory tires all had about 6” of lead strips for balancing. Now, two have about 4”, one has about 2” and one has none that I can find. I have only gone about 60mph, with no issues. There might be some, but, regardless I think this is a good start.

Here on the farm we made apple juice this morning. Quit after about 5 gallons. Next year we’ll add some yeast to a bit…

CodyP It popped up about 3 months ago now.
Not over bumps/dips, happens during slow speed turns front + reverse.
No new suspension work, just removed the 1" diff-mount drop spacers from the previous owner.
Has 1" coilover spacer lift. Which are going away soon, waiting for a blackfriday deal on Fox 2.0's.

I have Energy Suspension bushings for the steering rack, but haven't had the time to do that yet.

So gave the truck a bath yesterday and it seems Les Schwab scratched the crap out of my wheels. All 4 of them. Taking it back for them to look at tomorrow, but they said there is a mobile wheel guy that will fix the. I am not sure about that because I think the machining grooves are ruined. Thoughts?

That sucks, I know the feeling. Actually the reason I stopped going to them.
I got tires on my brand new Ram 1500 and it looked like they scraped the factory weights off with a chisel.
They kept putting me off for months, decided not to waste another minute of my time on them.
