So, a couple trips to the airport and it really was one road that had weird harmonics. Other than that she wants to drive fast. Stock tires at 40lbs might have something to do with the one road, but I am 99% pleased.

@Scruffy_Nerf just picked up my old traction boards. Was a pleasure meeting him. Tagging so he knows where us PNW degenerates hang out and help each other spend money on mods!

Speaking of random things we don't need. I've got an extra rear rubber floor mat and wheel spacers if anyone needs them

Thank you @Green Thunder for the traction boards and introduction! It was a pleasure to meet you as well. I'll try to brace my wallet for the incoming pain. Ha ha

So far, I've been happy with it. There are obviously a few bugs that need to get worked out (mostly software) but none of them really spoil my enjoyment. A few observations in no particular order of importance:
    • Looks are very subjective, and I think I'm probably in the minority here, but I like the looks of it. I think the paint matched "mustache" makes a big difference.
    • The double cab rear legroom is not great. That's not a problem for me but a family of 3 or 4 should to look at the crewmax instead.
    • There are times that I really wish the truck came with a bed step standard. However, it's ultimately not a big deal since I can just throw a folding platform in the bed / back seat if I need it.
    • I haven't had any issues with rattling so far but I have less than 4k miles on it at this point.
    • Gas mileage is as good as expected. I'm getting 20-25mpg. With that said, I don't hit the turbos hard.
    • The PVM system is great and makes parking the truck a breeze.
    • My biggest frustration is that accessories are still not available but that's what I get for buying the first year of a generation.
I think people buying the 2023 are going to love it. The software issues will hopefully be fixed and accessories will be more readily available.

Sadly, I haven't had the opportunity to drive it much yet but I have plans when I get the camper installed and ski season starts.

    I agree on the mustache!

I'm glad to see you're getting that kind of mileage. It would be crappy for them to make the kind of changes they did and not have it result in the advertised improvements.

Curious, did you swap it out for an alluminum one? I’m scared to see how much rust mine has accumulated.

Nope, I’m going without. A bit of weight savings and more cooling for my tranny.

If I was to buy another one it probably would be an AL version, but not planning on it. And I’d probably put a tranny cooler on first and flush the fluids.

I agree. I seen a lifted crewmax on 35s and drooled. It’s like when the 3rd gen Tacoma came out and all the taco boys hated it. Now it’s the best one haha. But I’d still take the V8

It was real nice meeting you and Thanks for the CAT plate. As you saw, I drove my other car with a stolen Cat to take to the shop. That's why my Tundra (aka the garage queen) is getting yours.
I will install the skid plate pretty soon. That thing is like a tank and very HEAVY-duty!

I didn't know about PNW group. Thanks for the tag. I'll pay more attention from now on. Maybe I can steal some secret fishing spots! :D

Just went to buy wiper refills at the dealer for the first time. They only sell the full blades. Lame.

I did the same thing yesterday. $30/ea is kind of nuts. I’ve been buying the Costco blades when on sale, but have gone through two sets in less than a year. If I can get a full year out of the Toyota’s I’ll be happy

Recall a thread that some non-dealer wipers don't stick to the windshield at highway speed (i.e. leave spots) or vibrate or make noise or something to that effect.
I have the Costco (Goodyear?) ones on another car and it's been doing fine. Also wanted to buy a Costco spare for the Tundra but decided to do more research after reading that thread.

I normally have a stockpile of Costco blades since everything I’ve tried never lasts more than about 6 months. But my last few sets of Costco blades chattered and made noise right out if the box. That crap drives me nuts.

I concur the Costco blades are not good on the Tundra. Chatter and missing spots…. I went to O’Rileys and bought a middle grade blade and it’s been good. I think it was a Michelin.
