I really want to go IM again. Just never ran kings before.

Weirdly enough we just pulled into Galluciis in Lincoln City. Walked up the hill into the parking lot. First vehicle there is another 5th gen 4R with IM lift.

You can bring it down to me and start saving up for something else. ;)

Should be a standard pipe thread to take that quick connect off and put an elbow on there. A threaded street elbow - probably 1/4” (pipe size).

Yeah, I’m going to take the quick attach to the hardware store and see what I find. Hopefully it isn’t some reason Ausi that

looking at some of their stuff the end that is screwed in the compressor looks like a JIC 04 37degree flare fitting. Still looking to see how to do it in 1 fitting instead of 90, followed by a another fitting that goes to…oh hang on

You very well could be right.

    I can’t seem to get/find a manual.

At least this ARB picture will help clear it up

Obviously one is right for the compressor.

    Hey, welcome back!
Hope all is well in Austin, I've see YT videos of them cranking out black and blue model Y's.
Looks like a lot of construction is still ongoing.

Thanks. Yep, blue and black to start to start with other colors to come later. I am driving a blue one now.

Craziest construction site I have ever seen. 24/7 construction ongoing.

I would love to get updates from you on what's happening there, PM if you don't want things public. We'll be in the market for an EV in a couple years, maybe sooner.

McMaster Carr has about all the hardware you might need if you order ahead of time.

Shimming would probably be the cheapest option and it doesn’t look like it would take much. That being said I wonder if something like this fit in the space? It might be the same size when fully assembled.

You guys were on point last night. Thanks for all the suggestions.

Scanning the ARB website this morning it says “A hose coupling should not be installed directly onto the compressor if it is being used for tire inflation. Instead, use the ARB Manifold or a remote coupling setup.”

Curious about that. Wonder if the manifold offers some form of buffer/ shock absorber against pressure spikes to the system. I cannot imagine why the system would care otherwise.

The coupler I have is the 740112. I’m probably just going to puke the $80 for the manifold and go from there. I’ll never add lockers, but it will allow me to run a hose to the back of the truck if I want or even plumb into a set of airbags.

Yeah - I am looking at either making or buying a small tank when I do add air to the truck. It provides a reservoir so that the compressor pump isn’t running full time - same principal as a stationary air compressor. That’s part of why I’m pushing that one out a while - I want to get my wiring planning all dialed in first.

Which compressor mount did you go with?

A tank would be cool, but the dual compressor is fully duty cycle so it fits my needs.

I got the mount from the guy here on the forum that makes them. I liked the location of this mount over those on the driver side.

Not sure about the ARB, but, my Viair compressor came with an air hose that has silicone sleeves over the ends because the compressor gets flipping hot after a sustained load of airing up 4 tires. Is the ARB the same way with some sort of non heat conductive covering on the coupling so you don't burn yourself disconnecting? The manifold would not transfer the heat obviously because the actual compressor body is what gets really hot.

That seems reasonable. My portable ARB compressor gets hot AF after four tires

Cool - I've been looking at his mount and the SDHQ one. I have the Rago mount over my fuse box, but plan on using it for my electrical distribution by drilling/tapping holes in it for the various components.

Oil change today, including swapping the filter housing for the aluminum one and installing a Fumoto valve. The fucking OEM housing was on so tight (dealership idiots) that it took an air impact and a solid 20 seconds to bust it loose.

    Nope.
Getting myself set up to do them all myself moving forward. With the Fumoto and the filter housing drain, it's not very hard to do and then I know it's done right.

I hit 8k miles on Friday and I’m still debating if I even want to take mine in for the free services. Im leaning heavily towards doing it myself. I already have the Fumoto installed from the oil change I did at 2k and have the MotivX tools on hand. I called my local dealer to see if they would be willing to give me the oil and filter for self service- no go. Knew it was a long shot but I asked anyway.

I am in the same boat. Stocking up filters, valves, tool, and oil. Just trying to see if I want to do something extra like that liqui moly or not. I have about 6 quarts left of Mobil 1 from the last Tundra.

X2. I only go a couple hundred miles over 5k depending on when it hits. Probably could go a bit longer but it’s good piece of mind for me.
