Yanked my cab steps yesterday as the finish was starting to fail. Truck looks like it has had liposuction. 7AF32B10-5034-4B8D-9BD9-4F98B4A02166.jpg

Truck looks great! How you liking those KO2’s? I know they weren’t your first option.

Edit: also are you leaving the steps off or getting new?

Thanks, I do like the cleaner look. Think I’ll be installing sliders next time around. Need the wife to dislike the current config before that purchase is authorized.

So far the tires are great. I’m still messing with pressures but think I have that squared away now. I’m sensitive to the balance on these things and I have to tell myself the bumps I feel going down the road are the stiffer tires.

Let me know how that logic works out! I have stock steps and want sliders too. I thought I wanted the amp steps and bought a used set on Craigslist, but think I have changed my mind. Going to be even harder to convince the Mrs. now since I bought something I’m not going to use.

What are you running for pressures? Low 30’s?

Running 40psi for normal driving. Have to bump it up to 50 for towing. The summer months will be jittery.

After a fair amount of dinking around, I found 38psi at about 50 degrees is where I'm happiest with the Falkens. Not too stiff, not to soft, good tread wear, and once I'm on the road they warm up to around 40.

I’m running 35psi in the front and 32 in the back since I spend 95%of the time with an empty bed. Seem to be getting good tread wear and not super rough. Having 35’s on 17’s helps though. If I tow I just pump up the airbags instead of the tires.

My OCD cannot handle front and rear tires at different pressures.

The tire’s load capacity is related to the pressure. The lower the psi, the lower the capacity. Max load is at max pressure, so you might want to check that.

My OCD deals cause the ride is better. Lol!

Agreed! I’d be a bit more worried if I towed my boat more than 2 miles from my house to the dock and back. And most of the time the wife suv pulls it cause the car seats are in it.

Installed the Trigger 4 Plus, Rago ditch mount brackets and BD Squadron Pros this evening. Light output from the Pros is outstanding.

Now I just need to muster up the time and cajones for the 40” S8 hood bulge install.

Where are the brackets for this coming from? I’ve been wanting to do this but can’t seem to find a good kit.

They’re the SDHQ brackets. I’ve seen plenty of mixed experiences with them here on the forum. That and (partially) the weather has had me dragging my feet on the install. Ooh and winter steelhead fishing.

Sorry, now that you mention SDHQ I remember you’ve told me that before. My bad!

Think I couldn’t find the mounts last time but I just dug around and found them finally. Nuts they don’t always work.

I've been very pleased with my Toyo OC AT3s - running at 37 and no complaints. I'm considering the n-fab RKR with the steps you can remove - anyone had experience with them? I had the nerf step on my 4R and was pretty pleased. I like the thought of having the removable steps for when you need them out of the way.

Also - @reywcms where did you get those sensor protectors?

How much is an abs sensor? I’m guessing it’s cheap insurance. That’s my angle at least.

$340 each from toyota. But also if it happens to get ripped off the rig won't move I believe. As the sensor has input into other aspects on the ecu etc

I was surprised how exposed the sensors are under the truck. Maybe all vehicles are like that but to me they are just begging to get whacked by something.

Hopefully you get it soon. Can’t wait to see it. Scheduling the bed linex since someone’s coming to get the bed rug this weekend. Then I can finally get the y strap for the spare and molle panels going.
