Dang, it is a rare month we go over $200 for gas and electric (Jan and Feb normally). Still, 55gal a month seems reasonable I guess.

What would you say is a modest monthly residential utility payment; gas and electric, combined?

I would like to hear from others, now.
I am pretty sure our cost would be much higher with an all electric home.

I have no idea what "normal" is, I'm spoiled over here in North Central WA.

I didn't mean any offense by that, sorry. People have almost no control over their power bills other than adjusting the T-stat.

Last month was $250 for me for natural gas and electric. Depends how warm I want to keep my two car garage in the winter as it’s only electric heat in the garage and can change it by at least $50. I can get it down under $100 in the spring and fall when we can have windows open a majority of the time. I would guess average for the year is about $175 a month.

No gas here, all electric. Last month was $95, we average $60/ month over the year.

No offense taken! I’m curious now, though, like I said.
We have the thermostat set at 65 and stay bundled up. But I didn’t mention that the electric bill is probably 1/2 just from the shop. The grinders, sanders, compressors, power hammer and press have to be using a lot.
Also, I just realized, possibly 15% or more of the propane is probably being used to fire my forges. I get the delivery guy to fill my 20g tanks when he makes deliveries. My home and shop both have 200a services but I’m on a single meter

It really will vary since we all have different homes, prices, etc.

Most months I’m in the $150 range for gas/electricity. Maybe $170 if we have the A/C cranked. We have always paid for the 95% efficient (or whatever) appliances so that is paying off each month.

Our December-February bills spike to $200-250 based on weather.

If you’ve been waiting for a decent price on Husky floor mats, don’t miss this price. I’ve been using an Amazon price tracking app, and it paid off today!

    Don’t miss this deal guys.

I thought about that after, your shop is probably responsible for 1/3 to 1/4 of your bill?

Holy crap that was some epic rain. That was a legit 24+ hours of steady to heavy rain. Nuts.

You guys survive okay? I feel like if I poked the ground with a shovel it would pop like a water balloon.

We had some good rain over here yesterday but I'm sure nothing like you got.

Installing airbags on my dad's truck today, should be a good time!

We got soaked pretty good over here too. Approx. an 1” in the last 24hours. A lot for the east side of the state. All my big snow berms on the side of the driveway are finally gone.

It was absolutely dumping here Monday. Today a bit lighter.

Just had a call with someone from Dirtking, they're planning to produce a spring over LT kit that does not require a bedcage. So I'll most likely go this route in the future along with their front LT kit.

Got it done yesterday but it wasn't easy. The upper bump stops on his 06 Ram 1500 had the perfect design to hold dirt and breed rust. 2 of the 4 bolts snapped, after soaking in Kroil all morning.
Drilled the old bolts out and chased the threads with a tap to clean them up, success!
    20220302_150226.jpg
Dad's happy I saved him $600 on the install, plus whatever they would of charged him for the broken bolt repair.

All things considered, that rust looks pretty minimal for a 15-16 year old truck.

My wife and I went to Long Beach for a weekend this past fall.

There is a small distillery at the Adrift hotel that we checked out. There is horse back riding on the beach if you want. You can drive on the beach there with several access points. Best restaurant in town is at the Adrift hotel and is called “Pickled Fish”. It’s on the top floor, looks over the ocean and beach. Great food and drinks with live music on some nights. Make reservations as it does get busy and it is not a big place. Further south is a place called Shelbourne House which is an old hotel with a cool bar/restaurant but their hours are limited.

The wife found a little condo on VRBO that allows dogs(though we have to check about ours). I think we may be staying there. Will be nice to be able to make our own food if needed too. Unfortunately, this is cutting into my lift fund as the kids want to take the bikes. So now I need a 4 bike hitch mounted carrier. At least this “mod” will work for the 4R and the truck.
