You left siders seen the weather report for next week? Back into the 20’s here. Dang it, I need to go winterize the trailer again.

That reminds me, let’s play a game. Coming back from camping last weekend I stopped at a local RV park to dump the tanks. Their dump station was clogged (discovered that after I started…ugh). I called them yesterday to ask if it was working again (gotta go finish) and was told it had to be dug up to fix the clog.
    Guess what clogged the pipes?

Hey folks. My time as a Northwesterner will be coming to an end. I accepted a job in Texas with Tesla yesterday.

I’ll still check in here once I make the move.

Any luck finding a place yet? I think you were looking East of Austin last time I saw.

Not yet but been scoping out areas on Redfin. I have a sister-in-law that lives in the area so she is helping us understand areas, school districts, etc.

Hoping to settle on location sometime in April or May. We might even consider buying property and building custom. Much easier there then where we are in the PDX area.

Personally, I'm looking forward to the cold wet weather. The mountains are finally getting a refresh of snow that they have needed for 6 weeks or so. This is the first time in my 16 year career that I have been in between projects during the ski season, so I’m taking full advantage of it and spending as much time in the mountains teaching my two little ones to ski.

I’m going out to left field and say it was a wig that clogged their system.

    Missed the answer. Brutal.

Yes, definitely a different terrain there. Good thing is we still have family here so we will be back often.

@Green Thunder Just happened to catch the end of the Nascar race today.
Final lap, dude wrecked and flipped into the fence, the motor separated and smoked the front end of another car! It was wild

    Yeah, that’s it. I couldn’t remember.

I watched some of the heat racing this past week. The cars pick up about 10mph in the packs, so I’m ready for some epic wrecks tomorrow. Very curious how this new car holds together.

Speaking of racing, are any of you guys F1 fans in here? 28 days until the first race. Most of the cars have been revealed and hoping some of the changes make for some good racing this season.

Yep! Looking forward to this season. Really hope the competition is closer this year. I’d like to see anyone dethrone Mercedes.

Did you see the Andretti family is getting back into F1! They apparently filed the paperwork this past week…

Me too! I’d love to see McLaren up there at the top. 2 of my favorite drivers. I did see that about the Andretti’s. That’s cool!

I also remember hearing rumblings of Porsche buying a team but haven’t heard much about that lately.

Other than the engines, everything is new. Carbon fiber body, 18" rims with center (single) lugs, 5-speed sequential tranny, rear defuser, independent rear suspension, etc. Lots of parts have to be bought from an approved builder; no more making your own bodies, frames, etc. Engines are still made by the shops, but a lot of stuff now is "off the shelf". The goal is to bring down costs and make it easier for smaller shops to compete.

I'll admit to being a Netflix fan. Wife and I finally watched their series early during the lockdown and fell in love. I've tried to watch the races in the past, but it was boring AF. The series helped me understand the nuances. We watched the end of the '20 season and were all-in during for the '21 season. I love Red Bull, but McLaren is awesome too. I'd also like to see Ferrari regain their stride, but I like Carlos.

I'd heard Porsche was doing something too. Was it the Formula-E? I cannot remember...I seem to remember reading something that a few big names were holding off joining F1 until the next engine iteration, hoping for more hybrid "green" power. It's all about the image...

I was a fan when I was younger but lost interest when I went to college and never got back into it until the Netflix series came out. Now I’m glued to it and at a minimum watch qualifying and the race. Sometimes I’ll watch some of the practice too.

I like Red Bull as a team but don’t love Max. He’s a little too arrogant for my taste. I do like Carlos in the Ferrari, but have been seeing some things about their car, especially the bigger side pods, that has people wondering already if they are going to be a top contender. I also liked George Russel in a Williams car but don’t know if I’ll be able to cheer for him in the Mercedes.

Porsche does have a formula E team already but your right about them joining F1 with the new engine rules and regulations. I think that switch isn’t slated until 2026 so we will have to wait for a bit.
