Mainly areas to avoid or hazards I may not be accustomed to, being from the south.

That's a hefty tax! May need to bring up a case or two...or whatever fits in the truck.

Glad to hear that corrosion is a non-issue. Saves me some headaches and money.

I wouldn't worry about it down there, I haven't sprayed my '17 but they don't use salt where I live. Maybe @Green Thunder knows if King County uses salt.

Liquid calcium chloride, sodium chloride or magnesium chloride is used on bare roads...not sure if that stuff is corrosive. Salt is used sometimes. Apparently the State uses "corrosion inhibitors too. Each city will be different. Seattle tried using just sand years ago so all the salt didn't hurt the streams, lakes and other water bodies. They got skewered by their population. There's a laugh in there that I won't promote so I don't get banned...

Lots of good “local” distillers and cuisine like everyone else is saying. Day trips or overnight to mount Rainer, Hurricane Ridge, Ocean shores, Oregon coast, Friday Harbor, Leavenworth and of course all the national forests.

The Issaquah area and everything around it is a very nice place to live. The entire region is generally nice with pockets of sketchy here and there. I can’t really get more specific than that.

Bugs and deadly critters are pretty rare around here. The mountains technically have bears and cougars, but thousands of “REI Idiots” hit the mountains every weekend and nothing happens.

The most deadly thing around here are the housing prices and if you are headed to Issaquah then you are already aware of them…

We typically do not have snakes that crawl into gas tanks either. This is a good thing.

Phuk you (j/k) - I’ve got another day of work!

That one is tasty - I got to try it at the tap room. I’ve got a bottle in the fridge too. I do get to pick up my Timber Beast gift pack and extra bottle this weekend.

Haha. I still need to watch that show. Seen a few clips online. Not sure I can handle real life as a comedy, so waiting until I have the mental resolve to see it thru.

I’ve only watched a few episodes myself. They are just fast enough over the top with it that if you’re not from here you’d think it’s funny, and if you are from here you think it’s maybe a little uncanny.

Thanks for the great information guys! It's nice to get some real people feedback vs just reading articles online all day.

The pricing on homes in Issaquah is certainly dangerous; we're planning to rent during our time in Issaquah. Been reading about the homeless encampments nearby some of the places we were looking. That part is very much like home, but possibly not as densely populated like Issaquah.

Happy to help. Let me know if you have any other questions.

The homelessness in the Seattle region is pretty much “standard issue” these days. Lake Washington splits the region in two areas. The problem isn’t as bad on the Eastside (alternate to Seattle) but it is there. Freeway underpasses and buffer zones continue to be a common area for tent cities to pop up. I-90 is the main highway corridor from Seattle east thru Issaquah and it does attract overflow from the city. I assume because the highway makes it easy to get back into Seattle for services.

Out traffic here is epic and weekends can be just as busy. Being near a highway (and work) pays dividends

Thanks! Will be many months before we're physically there, but that gives us time to make sure things are in order before arrival.

I can vouch for good whiskey up here. Heritage Distilling (their Brown Sugar Bourbon will change your life) and Woodinville is another great distillery that is about a 30 min drive from Issaquah.

If you’re a true whiskey lover… you’ll have to join the McMenamin’s Whiskey Club (if you don’t join the club just check out McMenamin’s - they’re pretty sweet). You get access to very limited quarterly releases. For example last year I got a cask strength single barrel, a 10 year single barrel, and a 7 year finished in rum and stout barrels. This year their releasing some more single barrels, a 12 year, and a few variations of Irish and scotch whiskies!

They have no clue where my order is. This is after a full two weeks. My order of five tires got split into 4 and 1 to pull from multiple national distributors. The “1” was scheduled to ship from OR, but was never released to ship. The “4” were lost somewhere between Spokane and here.

The stores here are being hit with Covid pretty bad. The asst manager that saw me yesterday was very embarrassed. They have BFG A/T KO2s in stock, so that’s what I’m getting. It is a “one in the hand, two in the bush” scenario. Best part is he knocked $300 off the price, so I’m getting money back!

I had these tires on my Fturd. Other than being impossible to keep balanced they were a great tire. And IMO they are the sexiest A/T on the market

That sucks but hope the KO2’s treat you well! I do like they way they look too. I tried to get some in September of last year in 35’s and they told me there were only 21 sets in the country. Likely a B/S answer for an excuse but ordered them anyway. Pushed delivery of them 3 times all the way past Thanksgiving and didn’t want to go into winter with bald tires so ended up with Maxxis Razr AT’s from Les Schwab. I run Maxxis on my mountain bike and love them so I thought why not. They treated me good and have been happy with them so far. They throw snow better than any tire I have and keep the treads from getting packed. They look pretty sexy too!

Fellow McMenamin’s whiskey club member here and a fan of their locations. Definitely worth checking it out.
