Unfortunately. But there was a lot of summer issues with lack of rainfall. Hopefully it will be a good fawning season this spring with greener vegetation.

I lived in West Ft Worth Texas - sure do miss the gas prices, food and the $100 vehicle registration costs per year.

We moved here from Austin almost 27 years ago. I doubt I'd ever move back there -- it's just too freaking hot and humid. Since we've been here, every time we'd go on vacation out of state we'd return saying that we couldn't imagine living anywhere else. It's totally opposite now, constantly thinking of where we could/should move to as this is not the place it was when we moved here.

Not only have I had the luck of driving past Bear Lake and seeing it’s insanely aqua-marine blue color, but I passed through the valley to maybe Logan, along 89 I think, during the fall leaves changing. So damn great it was as good as New England when the color change happens.

That’s good to know. Logan has been an area I’ve wanted to visit for a while and everything I hear about that area is getting me more excited.

I used to live near Ogden, Logan would be a awesome spot to retire.
I could also see getting a snowbird spot in St. George

Judging by that terrible nightmare of a drive I had between Mesquite, NV and St George last week, I couldn’t live there. The choke point in that canyon is ridiculous and I’m unsure why I-15 can’t have 3 lanes coming out of Vegas.

as for Utah, my daughter is finishing up her last year at the Univ of Utah in SLC and I’m constantly stunned at how cheap food is all over that entire state. WA food prices are out of control and have been for years. I’m in Seattle but spend tons of time in the Tri Cities and many other places. Crazy high prices here vs UT

Yeah, I would do everything I could to stay away from Vegas if we did winter down there.

That crazy about the food cost, although it does make sense when the employers here have to pass along certain costs..

Happy Sunday folks! Sun is out and it feels good. Getting some long overdue house work. New baseboards in the master bedroom.

Nice. The weather up here is beautiful too.

I actually got a sold four hours of garage time today. Took down and put away all the Christmas lights. Put the cold weather gear away, organized and swept. Then did an interior detail on the truck and got a fresh layer of water repellent applied to the windshield.

Ran a bunch of errands yesterday, so it was a good weekend. Now to relax!

    Nice work!

I really need to detail the inside of my truck. Especially cleaning the driver leather seat. The grey is looking dingy from the indigo from jeans. All the trim is up, taking a break to go to the park with the family then putty the nail holes, caulking, and touch up paint.

Happy Sunday! What is that green stuff in the background!?

Nice and sunny here too.
Ripped around on the snowmobiles, making sledding tracks for the kids. Watching Hawks right now, got a couple buddies coming over to shoot in a bit.

Any you guys ever used test strips to see if there is too much moisture in your brake fluid? Picked these up on Amazon. Kinda expected a higher score since my truck sits outside.

Same here. Would be interested what it says on my 07, don’t know if it has ever been swapped. Was planning on it when I do brakes in the spring.

Also does it test the coolant? Says coolant on the test strip to the right of brake fluid.

Yep. You insert the other end of the strip into the coolant. The other side of the card has the coolant reading

OK. I got one for you guys. A couple months back, the buttons to my wife's key fob (2012 Kia Sportage) were wearing out. Having been through this years back on my VW, I ordered a new housing to swap the components into. Somehow before we left for Christmas vacation, I misplaced the fob and the replacement. I am not one to lose things, and it's driving me crazy. I bet I have spent 8 hours tearing the house apart looking for them.

Have any of you bought a blank flip style key and had it cut and programmed (transponder) locally, for a reasonable price? I can buy the blank key w/ chip for about $30. The couple locksmiths I contacted, quoted over $200. Totally absurd if you ask me.

On the positive side of all this, I refuse to buy a new car without the dealer providing a 3rd key, in the event that we lose one. Frist time in 18 years, we finally did it! Its always fun watching the salesman realize you'll walk out the door on a new car purchase if they don't throw in an extra key at the end of the deal.

Flying back into seatac on Thursday (13th), have two seabags. Anyone available between 1700-2000 that could help a coastie get home? Willing to pay for your time.

I think people have had success with this. May try searching again. Can’t remember if I saw here or for another car, but may be able to program the fob if you have a working one. Maybe through tech stream. Either way, good luck.

Speaking of jacked up. Tires passed Spokane (Eastern WA for you OR members) this morning. So arriving yesterday didn’t happen. No surprise given the weather.

DT has completely abandoned answering the phone. I spent over an hour yesterday on hold and no one ever picked up. Just put the phone on speaker and gamed. Had to hang up to eat dinner. Today I called them 3 times and was on hold at least five minutes each time. No answer. Called another store twice. Same (lack of) response. Was going to try a third store, but it is closed temporarily this week. Great.

Stopped by the store today after work. They are open for business with three ass hats in the lobby. Phones ringing like mad, but they just ignore them. Took a clown less than five minutes to tell me the tires arrive by Thursday. He then told me they will call when they arrive and we can “book an install appt then”. Phuk no, I booked an install on Saturday online.

I’ll give them a pass on the tires being much later than promised. The weather was a big factor. But not answering the phone. Ever. Was very irritating.
