The neighborhood roads are finally clear and we get a shart of snow dusting the roads. Classic.

I’m not done with winter or snow yet, but I am done with this snow!

Lol and best part, it's only first week of January. February is the worst month for us the last few years. Could be the makings of a long winter.

Yep. Already have record snow in the mountains.

I need two weeks. Two weeks to get my new tires, clean up the truck and put all the outdoor Christmas decorations away. Then bring on the next snow storm!

Hmm, need to find some more deicer too. I’m down to half a 5-gallon bucket.

Btw, how is the housing situation going!?

Going good so far. I have a contingency plan set up on a new place. Just need to sell mine. Been on the market for 3 days. See how it goes.

I’m ready for some real snow. We only got a couple inches here (which is rare) need to hit mt hood for some fun.

So watching the news about someone having their keep stolen from the driveway since they left it running has me thinking about smart key and how it works…

I often start the truck and go back inside with the key to grab coffee or check what is taking the kids so long to get going and get the “no key detected” beep as I am walking away.

Does anyone know what can be done without the key once the truck is running? I can’t find anything in the manual on this.

My wife’s Grand Cherokee has remote start. We just make sure to lock it but it also won’t allow the car to move with no fob. Not sure on the tundra on how sensitive it is.

Mine is after market. Doors auto lock when started. And if key isn't in ignition it shuts off when brake is applied.

Yep - I was able to get out of my road this morning for the first time without having to use 4WD in a week, and then we got an inch this afternoon (though it was just sloppy slush on the road by the time I got home).

If you use the three-button-press remote start, your truck will be locked and it will shut off as soon as you unlock it, so no chance of it getting taken.

10"+ and still dumping snow here, I have a feeling I'll be plowing for a while when I get home. Should be an interesting drive back, I live roughly 1700' higher than my work. :eek2::D

Do you have push start? That’s what mine is. If I start the truck and walk away with the fob, the truck is still 100% drivable. Someone could just jump in and take off.

Hmm, good question. From what I’ve seen so far from Toyota’s systems engineers, probably nothing. I should test that out. I have a shielded fob bag I can use. Will add that to my weekend chores
