I need to go down to Portland to get some Christmas gifts at McMenamins, and if the weather isn't too terrible I need to wire up my new front camera and a pushbutton switch for my outside bumper lights.

That's what I grew up doing. Anything and everything was a 20 mile trip to town and 20 mile trip back. Used to hear people complaining about driving and I'd just shrug, way of life the the rural towns. And it wasn't uncommon to have to make 2-3 trips a day when my sister and I were growing up doing different social functions or sports.

Yep, my commute to town is about 20 miles as well. But I'd rather live rural and have the long commute, than live in town.

Commutes need to refer time, not miles. My office is 16 miles away. That’s 20m in the morning and 45m in the evening.

The couple times I've been to my office, it took me an hour in the morning, and about an hour and a half in the afternoon.

I'd like to get back to that. Or, at least out of city limits. Not much available for sale outside of Lewiston in my price range. Most is in town. But they are on the outskirts and don't seem to be heavily populated areas or school zones at least.

When you're rural, miles is easier. When traveling long distance it's time. Because a 10 mile trip for us over here is 10 minutes or slightly more if not able to use the highway.

Exactly. While I was working I lived where I do today and commuted all over the Puget Sound, Frederickson to Everett. I could get to Everett in 45-50 minutes as long as I left by 5:00 a.m., but the ride home would take anywhere from 90 minutes up to over two hours. My very last day of that commute there were accidents on 405 and I5, and it took 3.5 hours. Don't miss that at all.

It's expensive all over. My house has nearly doubled in price since I bought it 6 years go. Definitely a sellers market right now. But I'd say Idaho isn't too bad. At least not Lewiston area. Boise is another story though.

That’s my friend, is blow-by from the engine. A wonderful mix of fuel and oil from the crankcase that is normally routed back into the intake and joins the clean fuel to be be re-injected into the cylinders.

I will have to look into these. I know they have been pretty popular around here. I was trying to remember the manufacturer. Guess ill see whats up tomorrow while I am at work. A friend of mine runs one on his Sierra and swears by it. Just took the truck in for service today. I wonder if it will show anything. I need to check their work anyway.

Though I must say I was highly surprised today. Service advisor says "going to replace cabin filter and air filter with service plan". I said I don't need them. I have K&N in both. He says "ok. I'll tell the tech to toss them in the pass seat". Truck is done and he is going over the paperwork with me. He says "huh..i don't see those filters, hang on a minute ill go grab them for you. You already paid for them in the service plan so they are yours."

Say what??? Ahh ok. I can use them when I go to re-oil my current ones so I don't have to rush the dry time with the oil.

    Never had that happen.

Yeah, from what I understand with our port injection it's not a necessity to run one. It might be a useless investment but I feel better not having that oil sludge/ mist being sucked into the TB and intake.

Sounds like you found a service advisor worth keeping @Juanjoolio007
