So long as you don't mind the rednecks, it's got better off-road and hunting. More accessable public land.

I'm originally from the swamps of southern Louisiana, and was stationed in Forth Benning Georgia, Fort Campbell Kentucky, and Fort Bragg North Carolina, so I'm used to rednecks

Been lucky so far, but I've had some close calls. Deer can be so dumb when it comes to decision making about roads and vehicles.

But you go out into the middle of no where with a rifle they turn into the smartest creature out there. :notsure:

Dude, I'm literally laughing my ass off, because you're so right!!

When I came to a complete stop, instead of running off to the side of the road, she decided to play chicken with me and ran face first into the bumper :boom:

I like 6” lifts. I have been keeping the BDS one on my radar. I have never used them though. My last Tundra had the 6” pro comp. I had everything planned out to swap the spacer and factory shocks to the Icon stuff. Coachbuilder shackles and new leaf springs. If I went with another 6” kit that’s what I would do. Just buy everything then have it installed once.
I am starting to like the 3” and 33 or 35’s now though too. If I didn’t need the tundra for a daily driver then it would definitely get lifted.

If it weren't my daily driver, I would definitely go higher, but the 4" with 33's seems to be a perfect compromise.

Also, I have my Rubicon with a 6" lift and 35's for more aggressive trails and off-roading.

I’m following this lift conversation closely. If my Fox shocks are going to be exhausted in a few years, I’ll consider a full suspension swap over a rebuild.

I did some winch research last night. Outside of price, it really is all about the warranty, amperage and fitment. Everyone has a range of capacity, everyone has synthetic lines and wireless controllers and tiers of awesomeness. All new stuff is waterproof to some spec. All seem to weigh about the same. Line speeds and length can vary a little but not enough for me to care.

As for warranty, Warn, Comeup and Smittybilt all have lifetime warranty on hardware. Warn is 7 years on electronics, while Smitty is 5 and Comeup is 3.

Figment is all about what your mounting situation is…

Amps used at max capacity can vary 30-40amps, but not much between trim levels within the same mfg. That surprised me. I’d hoped a higher end model would incorporate a more efficient motor or design. Interesting enough, a 12k winch appears to pull fewer amps at 10k lbs than a 10k winch at full load.

So pricing varies a lot. A 9.5/10k Comeup is over $1,100, while a Warn is in the $900 range and Smitty $550ish.

MT sells Comeup. I’d just planned to grab a Comeup if I got their bumper. Now, no way. Warn and Smitty are basically a wash regarding the warranty period so it will probably be what fits and is in stock…

I can back up your findings, and say that the Warn and Smitty are exactly comparable. Other than the Warn (on my Rubicon) being 12k rated, and the Smitty (on my Tundra) being 9.5k rated, I literally cannot tell the difference in operation or functionality.

@Green Thunder i went and talked to my neighbor about his bumper. It does have parking sensors in it. I didn’t even notice before today. He has the Victory one.

    8B71E2EB-2BCD-4BB3-8FE4-DE6645F287B7.jpg

Also the Ironman bumper comes packaged with lights. I’m sure others would work if you didn’t like them. But the bumper comes with the ones you choose in their drop down.

I had to much going on to get away from the house today. I did text him and he sent me the measurements for extended and collapsed length. I texted him back but haven’t heard back yet.

Awesome. Thank you so much for all the info. I don’t have the sensors so it would just be a couple of open holes. Could wire up a couple of amber led light for a bit more flair. You’ve earned a box of chocolates!

I tell you what. I dislike how Victory puts their logo over the lights. Serious pet peeve of mine. Might not make s difference, but I’d be worried about a shadow right down the middle.

Updating my lighting game. Ditch brackets and lights bolted up. Wiring not connected yet since it started to piss rain on me.

Tip: Get and extra set of hands to hold the hood when installing ditch brackets. I assumed the shocks would hold it up when I pulled the bolts on one side. They didn’t. Nearly clocked myself with it and was able to get it back together by myself with some contortions.

Extra set of hands or remove one bolt at a time.
