It socked into here today. Was clear this morning, then walked out of the office this afternoon and it smelled like a campfire.

You still liking the kit? I got some warm temps this past week while running some forest service roads. I go back and forth on getting one…

That Costco is always slammed busy. Wilsonville is not as bad. Haven’t done tires at them just prefer the easier access and less busy store.

Yes. After the first couple trips towing the TT with the cooler in I stopped checking temps. Temps were definitely much better with the cooler than before.

I had only towed my trailer from the dealership to storage and then to my house and back before the cooler. I saw temps in the 220s on mostly flat ground, stop and go traffic, with top speeds of about 45 mph. After the cooler install in May we started going on our first trips. Temps never seemed to get above about 205 or so even with the TC unlocked. This included highway driving at about 55-60 mph and climbing a good grade to the campground. Using tow/haul and S4 a good portion of the time.

Install was not bad but also not the easiest mod I have done. Overall I am happy with it.

Interesting, thanks for the info. I was loaded (probably overloaded) during my camping trip the past few weeks and saw temps in the 205-210 range once I got up to freeway speed. Stop and go in the cities quickly jumped to 220-225…but I get those even when not towing.

Washed the truck last evening…it was still 90 degrees and humid AF…with the goal of getting a coat of wax applied today.

Just went out during a break in my meetings and found a layer of ash is already accumulating. Frak. Whelp, guess that busts my goal for the day.

How did you get the gauge on the lower right to point to the “F” ? I think my gauge might be defective.

I had to figure out what gas stations have pumps that don’t click off when it reaches $85!

I am still mostly work from home but even my office is only about 3 miles away so I only fill up about once every two weeks unless we go somewhere for a trip.

Beer is cracked. Girls could not decide between beef or chicken tacos so we are having both! Have a great night all! Stay cool out there, even 100 degrees at my house.

I opened a 2011 Pepper Bridge Merlot tonight and it is going down too smoothly. Was perfect with tonight's arroz con pollo.

What do you all have on the radar for the rest of the weekend? I'm cleaning the frak out of the inside of the truck tomorrow. Try to get rid of the 2 tons of sand and dog fur from our 12-day trip. Time for an oil change too. This will be my 2nd sample that I send to Blackstone, so looking forward to seeing how the engine is settling in now that I'm at 20k miles. Then I have to clean the garage, put all the camping gear away and fix a break in my fence...hopefully all before the heat sets in.

Making breakfast for a half dozen 20-yr-olds that are crashing at my place tonight (group of interns at work, including my daughter).
Helping my wife get packed for her 5 day backpacking excursion in the Eagle Cap Wilderness.
Maybe figuring out how I want my Pelican 2920 foam arranged/cut to hold two layers of toys.
Clean up some stuff in my basement/shop

I also just finished dismantling my safe lock and getting the solenoid working correctly again (wouldn’t stay locked)

Let us know how the oil results go GT, what brand are you running right now?

Busy with work until Friday, then joining some friends at their cabin on Lake Chelan.
Got some good news yesterday, DD exhaust shipped and we put a hold on a new camp trailer.

I'll post my results when I get this sample back. I've run UOA (used oil analysis) on all my rigs for the past 15+ years...V6s, V8s, V10s, diesels, gas...you name it. I'm running Castrol Magnatec right now. That stuff was magic sauce in my Ecoboost, but it is the only oil I've shown to have a noticeable improvement over others. I wasn't that impressed with my first UOA, so we'll see how this one goes. I'm putting the same blood into the block today and I like to change after 3 cycles. We'll see what I run next...although I have a metric ton of this oil in my garage already.

Next topic…We are headed to Las Vegas in a few months for some R&R. Anyone have any recommendations for off-strip casinos to visit? Other than the Freemont District… I love playing cards but not a big gambler. Would love to find a joint that has $5 tables and a good vibe.

Well if you were thinking of heading to central Oregon…don’t! AQI is over 200. Second tournament in a row canceled after driving there. Really not enjoying this summer this year.

Hope you guys are having a better weekend.

Can’t like this. But I hope you are making the best.

I just introduced a bunch of parents to the “Winning Juice”
    1.5 oz Pinnacle whipped vodka
    1 oz coconut rum
    Sprite
    Splash of pineapple juice.

    This stuff is dangerous!!!
