Now the smoke just rolled in again. We just can’t catch a break with hot temps and smoke!

No we can't. It was nice having that 3-4 day break last weekend from the smoke.

I’m overly ready for fall and hunting season. Waiting to see if I draw for elk here in Idaho the second round. Otherwise it will just go after deer during general season.

Good luck on your draw. Didn't get anything for elk myself. But did get multiseason deer and a doe tag. Going to try for a nice buck, but if it doesn't happen I'll fall back on my doe tag.

Thanks! Since I drew last year I don’t have high hopes lol. But maybe I will or get a super hunt. Either way I plan to focus on mule deer again this year.

Roosevelt and blacktail on the list for me come fall. I'll be rifle hunting elk this year due to the arrival of my second son 10 days ago. I will sorely miss bugling bulls. Can't wait to spend some time out in the woods. Hopefully October isn't as dry as the last two years. Makes the BT hunting much tougher.

A buddy of mine works for the Renton PD, and we were talking the other night and I mentioned the Tundra I'll be driving soon. First thing he said is do something to protect your cats from being stolen. I guess that cat theft on Japanese vehicles is way up here? I wasn't planning on doing any mods early, but maybe the Valhalla cat shields are the way to go.

One of these days I need to try my hand at going after blacktails. Nothing but whitetail and mule deer over here. Congratulations on your baby boy!

I am contemplating doing this too. I don't have a garage to put mine in at night so it's been worrying me a bit.

    Thank you.

I need to try my hand at mulies eventually too. I've only ever hunted the jungle on the coast.

Another friend of mine drives an Excursion, and they have tried a half dozen times to steal his. After the first attempt he had a muffler shop weld rebar to protect it, and they still cut through.

I'd probably go with the thicker bare aluminum, so it's about $750 plus shipping. Painful, but in the long run cheaper than dealing with cat theft.

Depends where ya want to go for them. They can be easy or super tough. Not sure how the terrain is over there, but we got some steep country in my area. Mountain mulies are tough. Desert/sagebrush mulies are not as hard.

For sure. I wish we could nip this in the butt already. Junk yards need to quit accepting the cats without proper documentation showing it came off of their vehicle.

I ordered the 1/4” bare aluminum from Tyler back on 7/4. Get your order in now as the wait time is a bit as he is busy.

Also ordered a TRD Pro front skid and TRD front sway bar from the local dealer so I can install all in one shot.

Yes, ordered both. It was a flat rate of $100 shipping.

I ordered 1/8" bare steel on 6/17 and am still waiting. There are some folks who ordered in May whose haven't been cut yet. So be prepared for a wait.

Soooo glad I got mine this spring. Makes me feel a lot better about leaving my truck at trailheads in the mountains.

We topped out here at 103. Sure am glad we got the little AC unit after that first heat wave!

Thankfully, because of our geographical location and the prevailing winds, we have not yet experienced any smoke.

    Welcome! Please join in…

And another Welcome! I live in Kirkland so may see you around town.

Yeah, it is nuts. KBB on my truck is $3k higher than MSRP…

There was a big bust a few months ago here. They found multiple shipping containers full of stolen cats. Imma thinking the crooks are selling to “exporters” and skipping the local shops.
