Screw this weather! Too damn hot. Camper AC is going to work hard this weekend.

My limit is about 80 if I can find some shade. Anything higher and I’m getting cranky. I do love the summers around here but the spikes are too much

Fire ban at the campground includes propane fire rings. :frusty:Good thing I brought a LOT of beer and cider.

Come up to WA....we're at Level 3, so propane is still permitted.

Funny story...sold our Arctic Fox in 2013 and never really wanted a trailer since then. In 2018 we loaded the truck full of gear and took a 4 week vacation. Started with a family reunion in MT and then headed down to CO and UT. Split the trip between VRBOs, hotels and tent camping. Did a tent camp at this amazing state campground near Pikes Peak. Elevation was about 9,000. They were at a Level 4 burn ban, so zero flames of any kind. Couldn't even have a small stove to warm water. Never thought I'd get sick of cold brew, but we ran the local gas station dry of 'em. Three days at elevation with no warm food while watching people burn a cig in their trailer while making coffee and bacon woke the demon. I was trailer shopping before we left the campsite. I was too old to sleep with a root up my ass, share a toilet with gorillas and not get a warm meal.

Did a VRBO in Durango for a few days and then we were supposed to hit Arches NP in Utah for another round of tent camping. Weather was going to be 100+ in the day and maybe cool into the low 80s in the evening. No shade. We bagged that and hit our hotel a few days early in SLC. Was out shopping and stopped off at a local RV dealership to show the wife the Rpod I was thinking about. They showed us another trailer, I made them a stupid offer and then I got to tow it home...

Burn Bans suck...but now at least I can heat water in the morning!

My wife was pushing for a trailer for the last couple years and I had been holding out. Fourth trip this summer in the new trailer and it’s awesome. No sleeping on the ground and being able to push brew on the coffee pot is pretty nice. Maybe I’ve gotten soft but it’s nice! I also got the new truck out of the deal since I needed a tow vehicle so it worked out pretty well for me.

Haha. We had the same experience back in 2018. Sold an older tt and tried tent camping again. We are older (50’s) and the wife said forget this! I need a bed and a potty! Started the search for used/several years old tt and after a long day looking at pieces of junk, went a saw a used 2018 Micro Minnie that had the floor plan we wanted. Offered what I thought was a ridiculous low price and they said ok. No back and forth. I was like oh crap I really have to buy this now! Anyway 3 years later still enjoying it. Always trying to do preventive maintenance and some mods to it like the truck.

@Dsptundra congrats on the new trailer and it’s nice to see that your family is enjoying it. Next year will even be better you just got to step up on your game with the reservation. If you want a site for all the major holidays in the summer you gotta set a reminder on your calendar 6 months in advance to reserve a site and get on it during midnight. If any changes or cancellation before your trip you’ll only lose $8 which is your reservation fee. If you want a site for memorial day weekend set a reminder to book a site on November 27 . If you want a priceless killer view try and get this site at Beachside state park site#63. Look up the details, your awning will literally be just a couple feet from the sand and you get to watch the sunset while having dinner. Good luck and enjoy your weekend.

Loaded with everything. Should have just put axles on the house!
    70119303-F754-4995-BC33-CA3F5A49BE19.jpg

Reservations for WA state parks are 9 months in advance. Be ready to go at 7am when the reservation books open. I’ve been beat to a site many times and even the large parks fill up within minutes. It is nuts.

National parks are 6 months. Those too can go fast, but not as crazy as the WA state parks.

I posted this over in the boating thread too, lol. I’m not sure how much overlap there is

    Here’s a quick question for y’all;
I am looking for a long shaft 4stroke trolling motor, around 8-10hp. A new Honda would be about $2,400.00. I hope to find a decent used one for 1/2 that.
I live up in the upper nw corner of Oregon. If you have any good leads, please pm me

Yes. Driven through on 84 plenty of times but never spent anytime checking out all the stops on the old HWY 30. Pretty amazing waterfalls and stops along that stretch. Camped at Ainsworth State Park for the weekend as the home base which worked really well.

32 mile round trip hike this weekend, starting Friday about 6:30pm.

Mt. Adams from just below the High Camp. Adams Glacier is the big one in spilling out of the saddle. The snowfield to the left is actually a small glacier feeding Killen Creek.
    IMG_2614.HEIC.jpg

A few miles before this picture, crossing Adam Creek (fed from that large glacier). The only precarious water crossing of the trip, but it was a bit hairy. One gal from a separate group that came up on the crossing the same time we did lost one of her trekking poles in the water. It's running about 4-5 feet deep and isn't any more than 40 degrees in temperature.

Just left our first stop. Was a ton of fun, but the weather wasn’t the best. Moving about 20 miles as the crow flies to Ocean Shores.

Currently guarding the two rigs and gear while the wives and kids restock at Wally world. Given that it is Aberdeen, the “RV” parking is a bit sketch.

Reading about smoke coming into the cities. Anyone getting smoked out yet? My in-laws bailed from Winthrop it was so bad.
