Usually good mushrooms the following spring in burnt areas. They say containment expected 7/31/21, so will have to see how much more continues to burn.

If you were in the Salem area, I would have my dad come give you tips. He has... 250(?) acres he takes care of now.

It looks like Vernonia is about an hour and 1/2 from Salem. Probably not a route he’s likely to be taking, lol.
I sure would like to have him see what I’m doing and give me advice!

Very cool! I’ve never gotten close enough to a hazelnut tree to see them growing. Passed plenty of the orchards though!

I typically just find piles of hulled shells under the wild ones on my property - the squirrels are fast around here!

With the cost of my truck and the mods I have added I am still under 44,000. Still going to put on about 10k more give or take that includes plans of a locker. 55,000. I think if people just hold on a bit more for the chips to come out th,e market will be flooded with new vehicles. Hopefully driving the prices back down. Just saying.

Its absolutely insane. I am trying to figure out what I’m doing also. If I could find a decent enough vehicle to drive I could sell my Tundra next summer and wait like 6-12 months then buy the next vehicle. Top three trucks or SUV’s on the list: Sequoia, Yukon AT4, or another Tundra…especially now with that new huge ass sunroof in the new one. I have 2 cars on the list but neither are really practical. I guess we will see how this pans out.

or I could keep this excellent condition Tundra and start my build.

Just got a heads up that Wilsonville Toyota has a Black TRD Pro CrewMax arriving at the end of this month. Still available in case anyone wants it, and looks to be MSRP with minimal add-ons.

First world problems… Mrs Thunder told me tonight our 80qt cooler is slightly too small. She needs more room. So off I go to find a replacement.

Well whadafuk… most of the mfgs I found skip right over the 100qt range and go right to 120ish. Even I know we don’t need that much, plus it makes to super heavy. Grrr…

I only use my 120 qt cooler for fish and game, otherwise prefer two smaller coolers. Helps manage weight, cool vs cold, and a declining need for cooler space as days pass

I just received my Grizzly 100 qt cooler last week.

I couldn't find any coolers that size in stock, in stores.

    And no sales.

I went to Grizzly coolers .com, and signed up for their account and to receive emails.

Then I went into my inbox, and they had given me 2 coupons. A 15% and a 20% off discount, at their website.

I bought the 100 qt, plus an extra tray and a folding cutting board.

With discount $383. With $95 saved.

    Try it!

    Finished up a project today.

Been waiting to get comfy grips. Decided to try out Elk Stag inserts.

I absolutely love my JM4 holster. Rides perfect, all day long on my hip, in the Tundra.

I am considering a 2nd cooler. The problem is I have a truck box. A 2nd cooler will eat up a lot of my limited remaining bed. Really wish Toyota had offered a 6.5’ bed with the CM cab. A 100 should fit in the same area as my 80 so I don’t loose any significant space.

I didn’t look at the Griz…thanks for the tip!

Well I guess space availability will dictate which route you go ultimately. But I have to second what @SSPey said those 120’s are heavy. I have just a regular Coleman 120 I used for bottled water, rum, and mixers when we had quads. It used to ride on the end of our quad trailer and was the first thing to unload when we got to the condos or the camp site. I usually had to move that thing by myself. Once my buddy tried to grab it and asked for help and I laughed at him. Then he realized I have been moving it by myself every time.

Now that my back is finally kicking my ass weight and ease of transportation was key. I grabbed the Yeti Haul(has wheels but substitute any cooler with wheels) and an Rtic soft 40. If I was to do this again I would go soft 30. That 40 can get pretty heavy for the shoulder strap.

We use the soft cooler for going to parties at friends, single day games etc. If we have a weekend out of town then take the Yeti or both if we need to take food and drinks and transporting them is way easier then that 120. That thing is now my cooler for smoked meats if I load up the Traeger.
