YouTube is usually my go to. Pop n lock? Oem?

 

I used the OEM directions available from the Sparks Parts website.

 

Replacement caps are easy to source if you want to get paintable or black instead of chrome.

I put one in recently, sourced the directions from YouTube. They’ve fixed the reverse polarity on the new versions, at least when I spliced it in. I had to get different wire splicers from O'Reilly because what it came with didn't close.

 

Thanks! I’ll try YT and go with it. Not adept at wrenching on anything, but maybe owning a truck will change that! Can’t wait to slap this on. Also have fender flares and a rear sway bar to install as well

 

The OEM requires you to run a wire harness from the right front kick panel, along the frame back to the tailgate. Does the aftermarket plug in the same way or is the splicing allow you tie in to wiring near the back of the truck?

 

The PopNLock instructions also had me do this. Easy enough on a creeper and just punch through a rubber seal on the bottom of the front passenger footwell. Unless Casey knows another way, I don't think you get a lock/unlock signal rear of the cab

This is easy enough, just take your time. I recommend picking something like this up as the splicers that came with mine didn't want to close. Rear Sway Bar is also super easy. Just make sure you have a Torque Wrench to set the nuts at the right amount. If you don't have one, Harbor Freight has one pretty cheap @ $20 or so.

Picked up this sweet girl from a shelter yesterday, 2 y/o Terrier mix. Our 10 y/o lab isn't sure what to think yet.

 

From the TC area and temps in the morning are usually nice. Good thing you play early.

 

Grew up there (go Braves!) but always wanted to head west. I return dozens of times a year, often just for the heat. Went to Chelan for Memorial Day (shout out for the awesome water slide park Slidewaters and their new wave pool with surfing) then headed to Salmon La Sac on the way home to play by the water and do some cliff jumping. Never understood why anyone is an East vs west kind of person, I luv it all, gimme variety

 

Ha! Brave here too. Wife a Lion, kids were Suns. But secretly the kids wanted to be Braves! Have a good trip.

 

Plans for Father’s Day? The son and family (8 of us) will be eating out under the BIG apple tree. Going with a Mediterranean theme; Will cut about 16 artichokes and grill the hearts. Making a couple bowls of humus, grilled octopus, focaccia bread, miscellaneous olives and cheeses, grilled mackerel, salad and home brewed beer.

 

Damn!

I’m doing elk steaks on the grill tonight with sautéed fresh green beans and creamed dinosaur kale and some fresh chimichuri on the side. Still haven’t decided in Sundays plans - my youngest graduates HS tomorrow so it’s her day tomorrow

 

Venison steak for me. Mashed potatoes and green beans.

 

It’s so amazing how much food we’ve been getting from volunteer reseeding. The kale, potatoes and cherry tomatoes are growing everywhere! Almost invasive, lol

I'll eat all that up except those nasty olives.

Burgers, brats and oysters are on the menu! Plenty of other sides an adult beverages as well.

 

We are up in Birch Bay with my parents. Nice to get out of the rat race. No clue what’s on the menu this weekend…

Just another Saturday. The brisket is an IOU from Father’s Day two years ago. I was told to order one from Snake River Farms and never got around to placing the order. When I saw Mountain Primal had elk, I just decided to go for it.

 

This weekend is the 38 gallon swap and tritip and homemade fried shrimp.

 

Just wrapped up my first trip back to Ft. Stevens in over 20 years. Fun to see the kids enjoying what I did as a kid. Makes me feel old...

 

Love that place! We’ll be there for a week in late August. A last hurrah before the kids go back to school.

 

How are the campsites? We are going to try and get down there next year.

 

There are very few "bad" campsites. Some are less private than others, but most are pretty good sized. Loops I, H, L, & M all have full hookups, while every other loop besides the tent loop have electric and water. We did some spot scouting for reservations next year and came up with what we thought was a good list of full hookup sites:

H26, L31, L39, L40, L35, M50, M48, I81

You might have to check the site lengths depending on your trailer size—we have a pretty short trailer so we can fit into a lot of places.

Anyway, I'd say it's definitely one of the better state park campgrounds in Oregon!

 

BOOOOOOOO. I wasn't able to complete the 38 gallon swap. After cutting the shit out of the cross-member bar that I had to add, the parking break and gas lines were still in the way. Said F-IT and put the pump back in the 26 gallon and then put it back up in the truck. This is definitely more work than some of the threads have made it out to be. I'll wait till a buddy that can torch-cut it is back in town to get done what I need done to that stupid ass bar.

 

Sucks that you are having a hard time! Hope your weekend goes well
