yea, it's between those and P&P, leaning towards P&P simply because of filler plates.

Once my P&P sliders were on I loved them, I think they are among the best looking sliders. I would have a hard time ordering from them again though. 14.5 weeks from order to delivery and the only response I ever got to questions about my order was something to the affect of "we're working on it." Install was a pain, but maybe no more frustrating than other sliders. No written instructions were provided, but I did get some guidance over email, but it wasn't 100% correct. They required unclipping brake lines on the passenger side and rerouting the e-brake line on the drivers side, which freaked me out a little.
As a step they are nice. As sliders they are very solid and I had no reason to doubt them.
If I was to do it again, I might go White Knuckle instead. If bolt on is a requirement for you and you have endless patience for delivery and installation, P&P might be a good choice for you.

yea, they have a run going next week, and claim it'll be about 4-5 weeks....but who knows.

very interesting feedback on the brake line stuff. That's something i wasn't aware of.

You might want to ask them if they updated their mounting design to fix the brake line interference.

If there is no interference because they fixed it that is good news. If they are are denying that there is interference that is bad.

Do you want the filler plates for your kids or for the looks? I personally don't like the looks of the filler plates and don't think I'd like cleaning off all the mud underneath neither. As far as for the kids, not having filler plates isn't that big a deal. I've had my sliders since my youngest was about 6 years old and she's never had a problem stepping on the sliders.

As far as strength goes, I think all the major brands are all rock solid.

Two things I really like about the SDHQ is that their mounts wrap around the frame with no bolts exposed and they also mount to the cab mount. But a major flaw is that they're short in length and don't run all the way to the rear wheel. I think that's going to bite me in the ass one of these days.

And about bolt on vs. drilling. Drilling through the frame is kind of a bitch but it's actually easier than bolting on the sdhq's. Working around the gas tank is a pita. Only thing that bothers me about the drilling is when there's a bolt on the bottom of the frame. (white knuckle) That bolt head is exposed and it's just a matter of time before they get sheared off.

You need to come out to the next meet to compare them. In the BASTRDS alone, I think we have 2 SDHQ, 2 White knuckles, 2 All Pros, 1 P&P.

i want the filler plates for the kids. The mud wouldn't be a worry as I've got a nifty new roller attachment for my pressure washer with 4 nozzles that shoot straight up to get the underside of the truck.

Definitely will plan on next meet

So I was at our local fair tonight watching the Truck and tractor pulls, and during the opening ceremonies the announcer made a smart a** comment about only American made trucks are able to participate. After watching a couple of the local stock and semi-stock guys make a few runs, it got me to thinking, it would be fun if a Tundra or two showed up next year. If this truck can do it, surely a Tundra can.....

SDHQ....my kids 6 and 9 have no problem using them without plates. Also, they are the lightest real slider option and with limited payload on these trucks that is a deciding factor as well. They were a PITA to install with the 38 gallon tank.

I read it's easier if you let the gas tank get nearly empty so it can be jostled a bit.

Dropping the tank on some jack stands helps a lot with the install for sure! Also the brackets didn’t fit over my frame without jacking up on the sliders brackets on the under side. Once doing this the brackets went into place.

The install isn't that bad with AP, and they're tough. I've landed my truck on 'em a few times. SDHQ is very nice too but they do stop well short of the rear wheel. If you order PnP you should prepare yourself for a 14 week wait.

Somewhere around 80 trucks in the photo, I counted. Most but not all the Tundras were in the photo. It took about 30 min. to get 'em all in there, lots of space made it fairly easy and quick.

Yes. Well, I will be. I bought them but still have to treat and mount them. I've lined up a friend and tools, just haven't yet found time.

    Pretty truck, that one!

I did it without dropping the tank, but the brackets didn't fit over my frame without jacking them up also so it was a royal PITA to get it all aligned without dropping the tank and moving a jack around a bunch. The passenger side wasn't super easy, but compared to the driver's side it was simple. BlueBottle, they are 100% bolt on and they are lighter than most other real sliders.

If you got them in already, check you parts bag for the 2 body mount bracket to make sure it's the correct ones. Mine were not correct and had to wait a few days to get the correct ones from SDHQ.

Hmmn. Did you take a pic to show them (that you could send to me?) There's no instructions or diagram in the well layered box of hardware.

No instructions? That's odd. Here's the link for the PDF so you can review and print:http://sdhqoffroad.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/Install-instructions-53-1540-G3.pdf

Wrong bracket on the left side. Correct one they sent me on the right side. I would hold the bracket up to to your sliders and and body mount to make sure they are correct.
