Ya. That area over there has become my new favorite area for camping. It’s really nice and so many trails that it would take forever to explore them all. So many things to see. The elevation there is no joke. Usually camping at 10000-12000 ft of elevation so it’s a little harder to breathe and be active but the views are amazing.

Hey y’all! Not sure if I’ve posted in here but need to start making an appearance in other places other than the SoCal threads since technically I live in SF...

anyways if you see a grey tundra with an rci rack and bronze methods, give me a wave!

also had a question about camping...some friends and I looking to spend a night or two by the water. They have a Subaru and a xc90 so I’ve been wondering if there are any primitive camping spots along the Russian river or something? We just wanna hang and drink beer for the weekend in bathing suits. Not looking to wheel or anything. They obviously don’t have the Offroad capabilities that I do. I’d be more than happy to hear any suggestions! Cheers, Zach.

Just a heads up to the NorCal Crew.. I am driving to Arizona just outside of Phoenix the last week of August and then headed up to Sedona. If anyone needs some parts run to Arizona or wants me to pick something up that is along the way just hit me up, I should have a good amount of free space in the bed of the truck.

Just came out to both my front doors wide open and everything in my glove box and center console on the ground/truck. Immediately thought I got ransacked but noticed only the food was completely eaten and electronics/knives still there. In Tahoe for the week and just had my first bear experience. Surprised how there is no damage besides the latch on my center console.

I guess you're lucky the door was unlocked. If it was locked, there would have been more damage from the doors being ripped open.

Here is the aftermath after I cleaned up a bit last night. I’m seriously blown away it didn’t do any damage.

So, Beast Mode. On the Tacoma, I have a switch installed where I flip one switch and it make the ECU think the rear diff is locked thus disabling all the nannies. On the Tundra, I don't want to have to monkey with the traction control (one short , followed by two more press and hold) to shut all that stuff off. There is a guy on here that sells a thing to do it for 90 bucks, but that seems too much money. I just ordered one of these to play with to see whether I can make it do the same thing for $15: Decoy timer. Programmable 100 on-off cycles. 6V to 18V
I'll let you all know whether it works. If it doesn't, I'll mount a duck decoy on the dash and let it do its thing.

Enjoyed Broken Arrow trail this morning out in Sedona AZ:

Fun trail, not very difficult. Just a lot of hitch dragging, the pup and wife had a good time too!

Devils staircase was intimidating as you drop into it, but once you got moving, it was super easy and fun.

    Hey guys,
I have a Husky floor mat for the rear for a CrewMax(2014-2019) that is FREE to a good home. I bought a new Husky floor mat that covers under the rear seats as well. I'm located in the Paso Robles to King City area if anyone is interested. I will be going to SLO on Sunday as well. So if your in the area and want it it's yours.

Hi guys, I wanted to get some advice on gas cans. Seems Rotopax is the choice for off-road’ers. I was thinking of USGI 5 gallon jerry cans but it seems I cannot mount them on my rack. I can mount/strap one on my diamondback, but that is not a permanent solution. Do you guys have any other recommendations. Thanks.

I just went through this search myself last month given I am one of the few with the small baby 26 gallon tank. Seems the Rotopax are great in theory, but expensive and if you get the bigger ones, super awkward to pour into your gas tank.

I ended up with a Wavian 5 gallon Jerry can. Which seem to be out of stock almost everywhere, but SDHQ had a ton of them in their store, so I snagged one while I was in AZ. As for mounting I grabbed the Smittybuilt mount, but that’s cause I was being cheap. Found an open box deal on Amazon and couldn’t pass it up. If you want a quality Jerry can mount, the front facing bedside mount that Wavian makes looked the nicest and the highest quality to me.. once I break this smitty Built one, or muster up spending $20+ on shipping from Wavian, I will upgrade to that mount.

    just me .02 of course

Super Siphon. Never hold up your can again. If you mount your can within reach, you don’t even have to remove the can from the mount.
