Welcome from Walnut Creek. For a shell your best local options are Mobile Living in Concord and Campway's in Pacheco (I got my bed cover & spray in bedliner from Mobile Living).

Eventually I'm going to have to do the whole headlight restoration. When I do I want to clear bra over them so they don't deteriorate again.

@joonbug i have the 2015 TRD Pro grill insert and TSS radar relocation brackets if you want to try that route. I have the Jomax Customs bracket and the 3D printed bracket.
I was gonna list it all for sale at some point when I have time but if you want to try them out and see if they work for you first, you can.

Nice! I actually have the old Pro Grille too but I broke one of the long tab thingies and it's rattling when it's on the glass fenders. I was thinking I wanted to use a newer grille so I wouldn't have to relocate the sensor and eliminate potential problems. How much you want for the grille incase I decide to give it a try?

@joonbug if you don’t want to have sensor problems, I think your best options are to either keep the current grill or switch to the 19 Pro grill that works with the sensor. The relocation brackets are a nice option if you really want the 15 Pro grill, but I still had occasional problems with mine. I tried 3 brackets (Ares gen 1, free 3D printed bracket, and the Jomax Customs bracket) and I had problems with the sensor going offline with all 3. The Jomax bracket worked best of all and my radar would go offline once or twice a month. I spoke with Jomax and they recommended talking to the dealer about doing a realignment processs (more details on that later) and my dealer was not able / certified to do it. They didn’t even know what the realignment process was until I explained it to them.
The downside to the 19 Pro grill is the price. :/

Another thing to consider is if you’re planning on lifting your truck, you may end up with problems with the radar sensor anyway. Some people have lifted 3”-6” and report no problems. Some people have problems at stock height or even a small lift. I have the TRD Pro shocks and coach holder shims, so basically a 3” lift on the front and I don’t have problems with my 19 Pro grill yet. It’s only been on 3 weeks so far but the radar has not gone offline yet. Popular opinion indicates that it’s not the lift that affects things as much as changing the rake does. I added coachbuilder +3 shackles in the rear at the same time as the TRD Pro shocks, so that basically kept the rake angle the same as stock even with the lift.

So all that to say, my best advice is to do your suspension first and see if that causes any problems with your radar sensor. Maybe paint the current grill black so you can handle it for a while and test out the new suspension. If you have issues with the sensor then maybe try adjusting the angle of the sensor or see if you can find/convince a dealer to perform the realignment process. Otherwise you could then try the 19 Pro grill since that lowers the sensor about 2” from the Limited grill.

...I’ll post about the realignment process shortly, gotta get the kids to bed. ;)

Hey Nor Cal Peeps! Wondering if I can maybe enlist some Tundras.com courier assistance. Found some tires that I really want that are up in the Auburn/Colfax area:

$400 for a set of 80% tread Cooper ST Maxx’s

The only problem is that I live in Santa Cruz. Anyone here planning on driving between these two points on Saturday? Could happily meet somewhere else in the Bay Area if you weren’t headed to Santa Cruz. The guy can meet Tomorrow or Saturday. I could Venmo cash for the tires, and give some gas/beer money or just beer...

Also have a set of Bilstein 5100s with 500 miles on the fronts and rears are brand new if somehow that is of interest to anyone.

    Any help appreciated!!

Also if anyone thinks I should post this in another thread let me know, the more relevant eyes the better!

    (continued)

something else I thought of - even if you change your grill out, hold on to the Limited insert. If you ever need work done on the radar sensor (for any future recalls / software updates) some dealers won't do it if you've moved the sensor around. So you may need to switch back to the original grill before you take it to the dealer for any radar sensor work. My dealer did not perform the open recall for the radar sensor since I had the relocation bracket in place. I'm hoping that now that I have the TRD Pro grill on there, they will do the normal recall work. Otherwise, I might need to borrow someone's grill for a day :)

Now, the realignment process for the radar, as it was explained to me...
The radar sensor in the grill works with the camera that is at the top of the windshield (by the rear view mirror). These two systems work together and have to be aligned correctly. The alignment process involves placing a special target or equipment a certain distance in front of the vehicle that has a design for the camera to see and some sort of transmitter for the radar sensor to see. Then a calibration can be done to get both systems to line up together. From what I was told this realignment process can only be done by certain Toyota technicians and requires special equipment - most dealers do have the equipment or know how to do the alignment. This is not the same as the 'software update' or flashing process that is being done with the recall work on the 2018 models.

At least, that's what was told to me when I spoke with someone from Jomax. He said that their engineers spent a lot of time at one of the toyota dealers doing testing and working with the toyota techs using the specialized alignment system when they were doing the research and design of their relocation bracket. I can't vouch for the accuracy of these details, but I have no reason to doubt what I was told. (I hadn't actually called Jomax or reached out to them at all; they called me one night to follow up with my purchase and see if I had any issues with the radar sensor when using the bracket. After I shared my feedback, he told me about the alignment process and suggested that if needed I might try to call around to dealers to see if any of them would do the realignment process.)

When I talked to one of the service technicians at my dealership, they didn't even know that an alignment process could be done.
So if you do need to get it done after lifting, you may have to educate the dealer and see if they can track down any techs or dealers who have the proper equipment.

That's not too far from me (I'm in Sacrament0). I might be able to go and pick them up on Saturday. But I have no plans to head anywhere near Santa Cruz any time soon. But I could at least pick them up and hold them for a bit and pass them on to the next courier along the way :)
...fair warning - I'm looking for some Cooper ST MAXX's so maybe I'll just keep them for myself. :D
