The BASTRDS are going back to Poker Flat!! Sunday, June 10th. We ran this trail last year. Most of the trail is fairly easy with one really long challenging uphill stretch. Lift is required and sliders are highly recommended. This is a really fun trail, especially for a beginner. It's not too difficult as the next few trips I'm planning will start getting more difficult. So if you're thinking about coming out with us, this is a good one to start with. Pinstriping is a possibility but from what I remember last year, this was one of the least striping trails we ran so hopefully it'll be minimal. But be mentally prepared to get some, you just never know.

@joonbug - This sounds like fun. How much lift is required for this trail?

@sr5shark. Sorry, I just replied thinking you were someone else. Lol. What do you have? Are you lifted at all? What size tires? And do you have sliders?

I was looking at his old posts and unless he has changed, he is on 5100 middle setting with a shim on each side, so ~2" front lift. No shackles or blocks in the back, so he is leveled.
I didn't see anything about tire size and sliders.
Rear swaybar could be a hindrance.

Sorry - was offline helping my kids. (@GodlessPro - thanks for doing the research on my setup :))

I am still at 2" in front. Toytec shackles are getting delivered tomorrow and then the back will be at 1". Tires are 295/65 18s. No sliders (yet) but I would remove the steps so they are not ripped off. Had not thought about the rear swaybar being a hindrance.

That’s pretty much what Matt had when we went last year. It was before his sliders and he got a little bit of damage. Probably more to carelessness than really difficult terrain. It’s your call if you want to risk it. If you can’t live with some minor damage, probably best to wait until you get some sliders.

I saw the pics of @GodlessPro's damage pre-slider. Damage from a trail is easier to live with than some parking lot ding but I will need to think about if it is better to wait :D

Most of the stuff you do is way beyond what I could handle with my current setup but thins one sounded like a possibility.

Would I need to remove the rear swaybar for clearance or does this just help with articulation?

    Thanks for your help.

Damaging it yourself while having fun is a lot better than walking out to the parking lot and finding a door ding. BUT, I don't think I would do Poker Flat with your current setup. Who am I kidding, I would do it, but you should really give it some thought before committing.

I said the same. Then faked my way leading a group of 26 trucks. :der::help: :homer:

You could totally jump in and make it happen! (And, really, you probably won't get a 1st time turn-out of 26 trucks where you are :tumbleweed:

so... how hard could it be?!) :crapstorm:

Spotters wont help with that pin stripping. We would have to hire a land scraping crew to go first.

What should I change about my current setup? Is it just the sliders (or lack of)? (I am looking at changing the suspension in the future but this will take some time).

Slider and skid plates will get you pretty far. Taller tires, 295/70, would also be a good idea.

Add sliders for sure. @joonbug said we are going to be going on more difficult trails that we will need 35in tires.

You would definitely have to remove your steps. The sway bar you should probably ask @831Tun. He's the only one who's ever had a sway bar in our group.

Dropping down into the water crossing was the first real butt clenching thing that I had done in my truck. It was all about lack of experience.
