Dan, Manuel, you guys do your rear diff breather mod yet? I doubt the water will be deep enough but looks like there are a few water crossings.

Yeah, everything since has been comparatively "wide open". Eh... it kinda buffed out.

Now that I know waxing my truck hides 20% of my pinstripes, I’m ready to go again. :p

I buffed mine with coarse and that was it. If I buffed it again, then went to polish and finished up with wax or ceramic coating it would hide 90% of it. But, that's way too much work.;)

It's roughly a $12 mod and well worth the peace of mind.

The book says there is a steep incline, so if we follow the directions it sounds like we will be doing it uphill.

All you really need is the differential adapter that replaces the breather. You can reinstall the breather at the end of the hose.

I actually think it’s the other way. I just checked Gaia and the elevation gets higher in the start.

Yeah, I'm well aware it will get tight from all the research I've done. Have come across a lot of the same posts others shared so it seems like a reality one should be prepared to accept. Just gotta grin and bear it when you hear those nails across the chalkboard. As much as I like to keep my paint in good shape, it's gonna happen if you want to offroad much.

I did the mod using Mark's writeup before I met him, so when I finally met him it was like meeting a celebrity. :D

Not sure if you all saw this review yet since some of you did Lippincott:
"I found it fairly challenging, harder than Lippincott for example. There are several very steep (~30%) slopes with a mixture of loose earth and stones, and deeps ruts down the middle or sides. But FJ took it all in her stride, never once slipped or spun (except once when I forgot to engage the A-Trac). The really steep uphill parts I did in 4L with A-Trac and Diff Lock, everything else in 4H."

I say this all now, but come Sunday I'll have my cordless sawzall, chainsaw, and some clippers just in case we want to create some clearance

Where was that from? Lippincott was a lot tamer than we thought it would be.
    I'm not going to complain.

Steep loose slopes are the worst for us since we don’t have lockers. We might struggle on those, guess we’ll see. But Lippincott wasn’t difficult at all, just a bit of ass clenching from the cliff.

The start and finish elevations look similar to me. You need to find the steep section on the trail.

If we go down a steep hill, we'll just have to turn around and try to go up it.

Funny, pictures never seem to do justice to the difficulty of the terrain. That doesn't look too tough.
