Not really. But you can't do this trail purely because of the stripes. I got quite a few yesterday.

Damn everything in the Bay Area has shrubs everywhere. Think it's time to do a socal off-road run.

There was actually very little. Just 2 or 3 spots that were kinda bad. But those would be enough to make you cry. :p

I just got done hosing my truck off. Still too dirty to really see what is going on. Can't decide if I should leave it dirty, wash it myself, or take it to the car wash.

If you don't want to go south, I think there are some open desert areas in Nevada not very far from Tahoe.

Very minor. Once my truck is clean I don't think it will be noticeable unless you point it out. At least that is what I am hoping.

Got my first deep pinstripe backing into the driveway, too close to my one bush/tree. Now that it's over with, bring on the rest.

My wife noticed a good sized dent and scratch on the rear passenger door that I hadn't previously noticed. I'm not sure how I didn't notice it when I was airing up after the trail or when I hosed it down at home.
Now that I have two areas of concern, I might take it into a shop and see what they have to say. Worst case, I'll just get some touch up paint.

I already have sliders on order that probably would have prevented both problems. Thanks to the Labor Day sale, a transfer case skid from RCI is also on order, but if I'm going to keep going out with the Pinstripe Warriors, I might need to consider additional upgrades. Shims and shackles might be next up on the list to give a little bump in clearance. At some point I should probably do something about my tires. I thought I was smart going to 275/70/18 as the very first upgrade to my truck. Now I'm thinking 295/70/18 or 35's might be a good idea.

@GodlessPro go big or go home!!! 295's are safer to run and net about the same height as a 35. That's the next tire I will buy.

I really like my BFG KO2 tires, which they don't make in 295, so I'd have to start looking at Nitto Ridge Grapplers or something. My concern with the 35's is the 12.5" width. Either way I would probably want to get new rims with a more friendly offset.

Yeah the wider tires def make it harder to fit. You willing to do BMC? You can fit the 35's if your willing haha.

I'm not willing to do it myself, but I wouldn't have a problem getting it done. I just don't want to get 295's and then wish that I had gone full 35 after a couple of runs. Luckily I'll have plenty of time to mull it over while I'm spending all of my money on other things around the house.

TC long travel. Deaver 420 SU leaf packs.
Sorry to see the dings Matt. Sliders are on my list. IMO the 295s are a good size, so close to 35 w/o the extra width. I still need the BMC though. I've got 1.25" spidertracks to help with the off set, gives me about +28. I went with spacers 'cause I found 'em on CL for $100 and I haven't really seen many wheels that make me wanna drop $800+.

Oh no!! Damn Matt! Those are some battle wounds.. with what was poking out of the damn trail not sure if the sliders would've helped. We had some mean limbs all over the place.
I washed my truck yesterday and noticed I got a bit of rock rash on the front rims. Some were heavy scuffs on the spokes but nothing major.

Purely superficial and I had a great time, so I'm not too bummed out. My wife saw it as a sign that I had a lot of fun.
I just wish I knew when both of them happened, so that I could use them as learning experiences.

I think driver side happened at the river crossing. You can see the big rock you hit and your truck dip hard right at that rock. :( Matt, man... I love how you don't cry about your truck though. You should have seen the first Tundra we took to Hollister. He got a few pinstripes, got all pissed and never spoke to Mark again.

What is there to cry about? I have the truck that I want and I'm having fun using it. No sense in getting worked up over a few scratches, I'll save my outrage for nazis.
