I think that's a good deal. You can't buy 5 new Method rims for that price. Yeah, you'll need new tires soon but you've got a good spare already there in the deal.

 

My other option was getting the used trd rims

The nice thing about the Methods is that with the +25 offset you will clear the UCA. With the TRD wheels the widest you can run without spacers is 295. You will need spacers if you want to run 35x12.5. (Some have run 12.5" tires on the TRD wheels but it is really close.)

Well, you need a "same size" spare. That one new BFG, tire alone retails in $300 range. Plus the methods won't require spacers and there are 5 of 'em. Plus, used wheels are a bonus 'cause you don't have to worry about scratches.

 

I think you will need 1.25" to clear the studs.

 

I didn't get 'em. Never got a response and the add was down quickly.

Also, for your 5th wheel you will want something with a matching offset. If you run +25 wheels and you put a matching tire on your stock wheel it will may not clear the UCA.

 

Oh well, it was a good deal.

 

If there are recesses in the back of the wheel you may be able to get away with 1" but 1.25" like Alan said is more common and the only size Spidertrax makes.

 

Totally get and will have a full size spare....

I'm with you. I need 35s, a matching spare, and better suspension. I also need to not be divorced so I am fighting the urge to spend.

It helps if you can find an angle that she supports. We are getting a travel trailer soon so my wife told me I couldn’t get anything else until I got whatever we needed for towing the trailer. So...I ordered tow mirrors, airbags, camper shell...and snuck some skid plates in.

Nice! Those skids are a requirement for towing.

My wife is 5'3" and curses me every time she climbs in and out. I even got sliders to make it easier for her.

 

You know it! Can’t imagine towing without upgraded suspension and skid plates. I’ve heard superchargers may be required also but haven’t confirmed.

You need 1.25" to clear the studs. Anything greater is fine it just pushes your wheels out further. BORA and Spidertrax are the 2 companies that most people will recommend because they are hub centric.

 

Stock TRD wheels are a +60 offset.
With 1.25" spacers the wheels are a +28.25 offset
With 1.5" spacers the wheels are a +21.9 offset

 

A 1/4", not a big difference IMO. Whatever is easier on the wallet would be the deciding factor for me.
