    Hello,

I am new to the Tundra and this forum. I bought a new 2016 Tundra Platinum the last weekend of June and love it with the exception of an annoying problem. Over the past few weeks I have noticed a noise just after shifting into 3rd gear when my truck has been sitting/"cold". It usually only does this for the first drive of the day and does not occur again unless it has sat and cooled down. I have taken it to the dealer where they kept it for a couple of days and did not hear it. I rode with one of the dealership mechanics once where it did not happen. The dealership did check the transmission level and added 1/4 of a bottle of fluid but it is still making the noise. It sounds like a spring popping and similar to what it sound like when releasing the parking brake. Has anyone had this issue or heard of this issue before? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Update: I let it run at idle for at least a minute before driving.

    Thank you,
    Alan

    Welcome from TN!

Why don't you try idling your truck for about 30 seconds before pulling out.

Let things warm up a bit

I always let it warm up/idle for at least a minute before driving.

I am trying to upload a video but it is not working from my phone. It does happen around 15mph and sounds like someone is releasing the parking brake.

Here is the video. The "noise" comes just after the "put your seatbelt on" alarm.

I have never posted a video on youtube. Is it normal for the anti-lock brake system to make this type of noise (noticeable noise) at 15mph on all Tundras?

At about 15mph, there is a noticeable "thunk" when the doors automatically lock.

Yeah the "THUNK" I am hearing sounds like it is coming from the transmission area and not the doors. I have my doors set to lock when I put the truck in gear.
