Noise from engine all of a sudden

    It does and my alternator was working ok like yours. I thought my motor was gone since it had 392K miles when the noise started. My original alternator was replaced at about 275K. Running fine since the the replacement and about to turn 400K now.

    Honestly since I knew whatever it was was covered I was actually ok. Just wanted the noise to stop.

    Me too i take good care the truck in the hopes that I can keep it for 10 more years. So I average 10k miles per year so in 10 years I should be at 159k miles total

    The 400 for labor actually doesn't seem bad for the alternator placement.

    It happens. Also this is the third time I hear about someone loosing a valve keeper cause engines to blowup. I hope not s thing like tower seal leaking
