You have to be going 25 MPH before it will work.

On my test drive, we were on a back road and the salesman looks at me and says, "Now don't freak out", so I ready my hand for a swift slap so I can wave a finger and tell him, "hands off". But instead he throws the stick into reverse and the screen shows the feed from the back up cam. He told me he would use it to get tailgaters off his ass.

Show us a video of you doing this yourself. With your truck! We need the following to prove:
    *Driver's license
*A sign with the date written on it and your Tundras.com Username
*Registration proving you own the truck with verification of the VIN
*NON-EDITED VIDEO - completely no editing, done in ONE take...because you'll be too scared to try it a second time

    Hell I ain't trying lol.

I'm saying what gear does it put you in when you hit reverse. Obviously not reverse so are you still in nuetral or still in drive.

Ha, my bad. You'll be in neutral when it happens. It really is made for a quick check of your trailer setup, then shift back into drive.

Op-you should have made this into a game of guessing true or false.

    Cool!
Cool! I know several kids who have them... We are in a support group with kids who are hard of hearing. My 3 year old son was born with hearing loss. He is near deaf in one ear and about half loss in the other ear. He wears hearing aids but can only hear really loud things in the near deaf ear with his hearing aid on like train horns. We were told that they are not doing only one cochlear implant on children and that you have to be an adult to do it. It is really nice to see people with only one so we have hope that someday he can get one and will hear on both sides.
Did you adjust to it ok and does it throw your balance off any?
Happy for you that you were able to get it!

Have you never put your truck into reverse? You must have a circle drive at home and at work.

Come on!! That's awesome! I was actually born deaf in both ears. Was mainstreamed academically through grad school and didn't hear a thing until I got my CI at 17. It took a while to get used to and even now, I can't understand a lot of what people say without looking at them (your brain is hard wired by 18 and can't pick up new tidbits of info as easily or as fast as a child would) My parents would have definitely gotten me implanted as a child if the technology was as good as it is now, but back in '83, it was- for lack of a better word- crap.
No, it didn't throw my balance off at all because of the reason for my deafness. The tiny hairs (cilia) that are in your cochlear that are embedded in the fluid sacs that act as a gyroscope of sorts and maintain your sense of balance, didn't grow. Everything else works great, I just couldn't receive sounds. It would be like talking on the phone without the earpiece. It works, but it's a one way street. Does that make sense?

If you have the harnesses for the backup camera; which most do I would assume so. But I'm not ballsy enough to try. Especially since I have a tree shifter not a floor shifter... hahaha

Toyota certainly seems to think that way. Coming from 2 Hondas, I couldn't believe how restricted the navigation in this truck is while you are driving. It blocks out searching for anything while the truck is moving. Very annoying. :frusty:
