The gold tape does work especially for my aluminum intake box. The accelerator does a good job sealing the fenderwell hole but an additional layer wouldn't hurt I imagine.

I ended up cutting the intake box just enough to be able to fit the accelerator+clamp to get a nice tight seal. @pvn.beluga was able to get his installed without any cutting but that's gonna be a real tight fit. Not sure what @Tundra234 did to his. I'm sure he'll chime in

If you decide to cut the box, just make sure you don't cut too much off to not be able to slide the accelerator on.

Ooof, I'm sure he can, we've been in constant contact lately with the tail lights. That said, I'd like to keep this truck a good, long while. If I go SC, I'll, uh... UH... Push it, a lot, and beat on it, a lot!

@00h2itrYou’d want to install the accelerator onto the intake and then fold the accelerator into the fender well hole in order to not cut the box it self.

Awesome, I may have read that a page or 2 back as well, and forgot as I was doom scrolling last night after hours. I'll give that a go. I don't mind cutting the accelerator at $20 for the part, but would rather not on the brand new intake if I can avoid it.

I think you might be cutting both? Honestly, try to squeeze it in before you do any cutting.

@pvn.beluga in this image, it looks like you didn't cut the intake, but only the accelerator, is that correct? And no hose clamp? Any feedback there?

No, didn’t cut anything at all. Just push the accelerator all the way onto the intake hole.
