Not sure it's appropriate for the whole family. Some people just can't behave in polite company.

Congrats on the SUV and enjoy.

Just gonna leave this here. There’s obviously a lot we don’t know about this truck, but 300k and towing everyday with no cooler? Interesting.

From the way the post was written the OP sounds like a service manager and it was a customers truck. I can comment and see though

This is pretty much what I expected. Any more details available on how much weight he towed, how often and over what type of terrain?

The transmission cooler seems to a hotly (no pun intended...well maybe probably yeah) contested issue. I personally feel it’s a non issue if the Tundra is driven according the manual and with common sense. Yes one will easily kill the Tundra transmission doing 75 mph in the mountains, with a family of 4, and pulling a 8k travel trailer.

There are many experienced and highly talented individuals on this forum and many other ones I view. However without speaking directly to the Toyota Tundra transmission engineer(s) makes it difficult to definitively say there is a massive reliability problem.

Thanks for posting this, as is it a great example real world experience.

Well, OP is in the northeast and mentioned the truck does long haul so I’d say it’s safe to say it sees some grades. Not sure how heavy or exactly what the truck tows, but buried in the comments he said the only thing the truck has had done is oil changes.

Agreed. Plus this is one truck out of tens of thousands, but still a good case study.

    Just an oil change!

Someone asked in the comments about the fuel pump and it hasn’t been answered yet.

Has there been a massive amount of reports of reliability issues?
We have a '19 truck here with nearly 300k miles on it hauling stuff (which is not unheard of with Tundras) yet you feel there's a massive reliability issue because you can't talk directly to the folks who designed the transmission?
    Dude...

Incredible we have reports of Joe blows that don't tow every day, go to work and then while pulling an RV on their time off get high temp trans alarms. I guess if you get alarm ignore or take you time and go to dealer to have checked out. Personally I would ignore alarm and crush the gas pedal the Toyota engineers know what they are doing but don't have the same input as the accountants.

I have bad luck but no bed bounce. Had a 99 Miata that had the engine thrust bearing went out and needed engine replaced. Mazda said very unlikely to happen, happened to me. I had the 2012 Yamaha FZR waver runner, oh timing chain failure very unlikely, happened to me. Yamaha did cover that but they won't cover the next engine. Getting old is rough lol...
Toyota said "no need transmission cooler" we see....

Thanks very much for sharing this.

Typical Toyota outdoing itself...no trans cooler and a bad fuel pump but still goes 300k miles.
