Sorry to be a debbie downer, but still love you lushes!

My dad was an alcoholic and passed it on to me, we both had choices to quit, he choose not to! I had a choice to loose my wife and daughter or quit, I choose to quit for them and my own well being!

26 YEARS sober, though life was a struggle and still is facing it head on and sober!

    That’s great Mike!!

Paternal grandfather and maternal grandmother were both alcoholics. Luckily my parents didn’t indulge or give in to that spiral. I can have a couple, but I know I still have a propensity to veer towards the extreme (HS and early college years gave me that realization). I say if you can’t say no after one or two, stay away!

    Priority is your family brother!!

That's awesome! You should be very proud of what you have accomplished and continue to accomplish! While you may have had a great support network, it is ultimately something that ultimately you have done due to your own determination and commitment. Congrats and continued success moving forward!

Thanks brother Wayne, your so right about passing it on! My grandparents on my dads side were both extreme alcoholics and passed it on! I would have been ok if I could drink sociably but as soon as I started it never ended, 12 pack a day was routine!

Any way much appreciated your comments and I don't mean any negative to those that drink and contain it for I give them all credit!

For those that drink here and there its no big deal to cut out drinking for a few days or 3. For an alcoholic it is nearly impossible.

I really respect those that have had to fight that hard to stop drinking, or quit any addiction for that matter.

That said i will not drink for these 3 imaginary days.
