Nitrogen molecules are smaller than oxygen molecules so the theory is that your tires will naturally deflate less over time. However if you're rotating your tires like you should be, you'll probably be checking the tire pressure, and adding air anyway. Free air. Not 50 god damn dollar a tire nitrogen.
    It's just another gimmick.

Correct....but pure oxygen is not going into your tires....."Air" is going in which is a mix of several chemical compounds, not just nitrogen and oxygen, and thus not inert like pure nitrogen. I guarantee pure oxygen would make the added cost of pure nitrogen look cheap....

Here in Colorado, the stoners are trying to find a way to grow weed in your truck. The oxygen given off from the weed would then be collected and then pumped to your tires for a constant inert gas to provide the best way to keep your tires properly inflated. The Hooka pipe outlets would then be routed to a convenient location on the dash.................Pretty much sums up what I think about Nitrogen in my tires.......I'm being sarcastic of course...but then again someone is thinking.." What a great fucking idea." "Wished I'd thought of it first"..... .

Worse than $149 for nitrogen was the $499 charge that one finance guy said gave me oil changes for 100,000 miles and the next one just said it was some dealer fee. First one took it off. Somehow it ended up back on the paperwork when I went in to finalize. I refused to give him any money until he took it off.

I have had nitrogen in my tires through multiple vehicles over the years. I swear by it. First, you lose pressure at a lesser rate due to it's density, that's why they have used it in race car tires and aircraft tires for decades. I think that's what the sales lady at the dealership was trying to convey albeit badly. Second, due to it's density, I have personally notices that I have better control when taking corners, there is less wobble as I choose to describe it. Some states have actually mandated it's use if I recall correctly.

And pure oxygen would mostly likely degrade your tires very quickly

Toytec level and diff drop, Cooper STT Pro Tires, TRD Pro Grill, blacked out, debadged.
Depends on the system they have some of them inflate and deflate a half dozen times so that the purity gets up to 99.9%. And yes aluminum rims will pit if there is moisture.
