Well I have owned over 9 Toyotas in my life...yup love Toyotas be it cars or trucks. Have a 2016 Tundra TSS double cab and love it. But we are thinking about getting a larger trailer and right now the trailer we have maxes out my ratings in just about every category or at least as close to max as I feel is safe. I used to drive a 40' GN in the well field and have driven just about every truck size out there except a big rig and so knowing what is good and not is easy to feel for me. Right now I know I would not want anything larger then I have now for towing. But for my boat and toys it is fine. I was reading and looking for a way to level up my towing capacity without going to some broke down Ford or Dodge or GMC but I see no way out of that situation. The main reason is I get a hell of a discount on Toyotas because my Wife works at the Tundra Plant in San Antonio. But alas...it looks like I just might have to bite the bullet and move to a bigger truck, or smaller or near same sized trailer. Lots of great information here though.
I keep trying to get the GM of the plant to tell me when they are going to make a 1 ton or bigger but you know how tight lipped they are about things like that. My guess is, honestly, never. The market is just too tight for that and that is a huge move for Toyota. So lots to think about and decide in the next few months. Let you know how it turns out.
