Yes but they are empty as far as vehicles unfortunately. Something I’ll have to travel for, Alberta is only an hour and a bit away but MVI makes me stay away from that.

The proximity vibration in the seat of my Yukon will for ever be the bane of my existence .. good thing to know

Hahaa hey I could use $60k and I’ll fart in any seat.
More or less will I be upset about losing my fancy features if I bought an older gen? Probably not.. half the stuff I can add in after if I really wanted. And then that pesky schmaranty is a little appealing .. a little

What I meant to say: do you have place, dealer or good independent shop, where to fix/service your truck? In upper part of Quebec all I see is GMC fleet vehicles. Some RAMs and F150, but no Tundras. I would perhaps buy bone dry GMC, just because I could get parts quick(er). Not sure about upper BC.

There are tons and tons and tons of people driving tundras and tacomas up here but they’re all brand new. I can drive anywhere in my province within a day. It’s 12 hours from top to bottom, Alberta is right there with dealerships and shops a plenty

Alberta trucks by experience tend to extreme high mileage. Road salt, slurry use is excessive in Alberta. So unless you find that ‘old man truck’ only towed his trailer to Arizona for the last 10 winters I avoid them now and stopped looking there

It’ll be the same wear and tear there as it is here where I live. -30 C and feet upon feet of snow with all the salt and sand on the roads.

18 hrs at speed from Vancouver to Ft Nelson. I earned close to 30 speeding tickets doing that drive. In fact just did it two yrs ago in 4.7 Tundra 2WD. Averaged 13.5 litres/100 at 110K. I miss doing those drives.

I don’t hate the Chevy Trail Boss and the colours they have but I feel like Yotas have the longevity and resale value. Dodge hurts my butt after even a little drive

Longevity and resale does not apply to 2022+ Tundras yet. All the glory has been earned by gen 1 and 2 trucks. Does not matter how you look at it, but engine replacement recall for 2 model years ruined that reputation.

ah yeah, that’s where I’m leaning toward older gens and more people say go for Gen 2. I dunno, it’s sort of just what everyone’s opinion is and wading through what my options are. Everywhere I go is atleast an hour drive minimum

Buy late Gen2 then. Gen3 does not have any extra tech I find useful. Even Android Auto in wife's Gen2 Sequoia - how do I use it with my Garmin InReach map? I don't, Google does not allow a random app to display itself over Android Auto, only Maps and Waze maybe. So I have a properly sized tablet, tilted to me and not obstructing anything I care of, and I remove it when not needed. If I care, I could attach a wireless front camera to the same tablet to help navigating the trails, but do I really need it? With WARN steel front bumper I just crush through boonies. Leather ventilated vibrating seats coming as a part of $5k extra package? My butt is soaked in melted snow when I cut fallen trees on my god forgotten trails, neoprene covers over cloth seats is best. Water repelling, not hot in summer, not cold in winter. I don't even miss automatic dual zone A/C. Single zone manual A/C is as good for me, and it will last longer, because it does not move plastic cogs constantly. Hard plastic everywhere? I hail it every time I kick it with my muddy boots.

In return I have leafs, not springs, and C-channel in back part of the frame that twists like crazy. Rear axle articulation in this truck is just insane. The engine does not mind working hours tilted sideways on a 40 degree slope while waiting for help. 38 gallon tank is a lot of range. Front CV axles are real CV joints, on any 4WD trim, not those cheap/flimsy tripods like in Gen3 (besides TRD PRO). It crawls anywhere day in, day out, without overheating.

    I’d lean to Gen 2.5. 2014-2022
Just new enough to be popular and can still wrangle a price deal

Generally road salt is more of a worry for classic cars on the island. I bought my Tundra to save both of my 1987/8 Land Cruisers
from salt but they are getting coated now for occasional winter expeditions. That wouldn't be near the concern here as
anywhere else in BC, it looks like N & W Vancouver listings are the cleanest. My buddy in Victoria has classic land
cruiser as well and is looking, he's passed on a few lately but if I was wanting 4 doors I'd have been pretty keen on
all of them. But I have no use for 4 doors on a pick up. I really only need 1.

Exactly. I'll get Nick to send me some of what he finds, pass em along. I'm only in country for 2 more weeks then gone until late Nov.

If you want a reliable 4WD SUV, you can get a Sequoia. Pretty much Tundra, but SUV. Also full time 4WD, not part time, like Tundra is.

I’ve had my Yukon for 7 years now and im more partial to the separate cargo space with a truck than the suv again. Animals get stinky lol

There are many for the +$35K crowd. I mean a 2019 TRD at $53K isn't where I look. This 2011 is a west coast special.
Would be willing to be it never left the lower mainland for anything more than a weekend in Kelowna. Really clean and
well optioned. If I was a 4 door guy, this is what I'd be searching for.

Howdy, I'm from Alberta and just bought my 2020 a few months ago. I did not like the redesign in 2022, both in looks and engine wise, so I wanted the newest Platinum I could find. I found mine after like a month and a half. Dealer maintained since new, everything done at the right mileage, it wasn't easy, but worth the wait for the right truck.

I love/hate the 2024s but the consensus seems to be that they’re not worth it. The colours are what I’m all about. Price wise absolutely just no thank you lol especially if I’m adding gear. I’ll have a boo at those 2020s

Well, being 'Berta, thats easy, no white, white truck=oilfield truck=being driven carelessly by some coked out 19yr old lol. Beyond that, I wasn't too picky on the colour.

Haha yes no pre bagged trucks. I’m partial to the new Lunar Rock colour but any green would be ideal. Can always wrap it too i guess
