    All,
    After owning several Jeeps, all lifted, locked and wheeled hard, and driving a few different trucks, both owned and company vehicles, I am very impressed with my ‘18 CM TRD Off-road. Be put 3000 miles on it and it is without question the best truck I have driven. I was on the fence between a Ram and the Tundra and I’m quite happy with my choice. The on road ride and comfort are well above the Ram’s.
    I know the off-road heritage of Toyota’s and had hopes the Tundra would perform. While it is not a Jeep off-road, it is very capable. I had it out on some muddy logging roads and I was very impressed with the handling and traction even with just the stock tires. The turning radius and handling were very similar to my four door JK. I won’t be hitting rocks like I did with my Jeeps, and I’ll get two door TJ as a dedicated toy in the future, but I’m fully confident hitting trails and the beach in the Tundra.

    Welcome. What was the appx price diff in the Tundra vs Ram you were looking at? Did price play a big part of your decision?

    The stickers were close but the Tundra was higher. I had a good deal on the Ram on paper and took that into the Toyota dealer and said if they could match it I would take the truck that day. So there was no difference in cost. The Ram would have been a ‘19 and not an ‘18 like my Tundra.

    Welcome. IMO you made a great choice. You probably gave up some amenities the Ram had but most likely gained much more reliability.
    I drive a 2016 Ram at work. It’s OK but it has ALOT of electrical gremlins. For example, I can pull the key out and it will still think the key is in. The Radio does strange things. Numerous little lights illuminated. It’s been back to the dealer 5 times and I have 42,147 miles all put on by me.

    Mantua now, so not far at all. I grew around here and we were always ‘wheeling and camping. I spent a lot of years away but moved back to NJ and lived in Whiting. Right out of my driveway in my Jeep or on my quad and I was on a trail in less than 100 feeet. I’ve been to a lot of places but I still love the Pines.

    There were too many creature comforts, mostly gimmicky stuff I didn’t want, in the Ram. I am a pretty no frills guy and thats how I like things. Simply, clean and functional.
