I was told that every vehicle in Toyota's lineup will have a hybrid and/or all electric version (a little insider info there...). I understand the resentment because I was hesitant about a hybrid until I purchased my hybrid Lexus. It's an extremely quick car compared to it's gas variant. Costs for the hybrid option are still dropping significantly too. If they can make the hybrid last 300k+ miles (which they can, have, and do often) then I'm in for the added torque and MPG's in a truck. I imagine that Toyota's goal will be to see diesel figures, or close to them, in a gas truck.

It's not that I don't like better gas mileage. I just don't want to sacrifice reliability and simplicity to get it.

Besides that, if I want to get good gas mileage in my Tundra, on long trips it's capable of doing so. I hit 20.2 mpg once on a long trip; that's hand calc.

A little of this and a little of that.

How’d you get 20.2 MPG’s on the highway? Going below the speed limit?

A little of this and a little of that.

WOW! I get 10-10.5 in the city and MAYBE 12-12.5 on the highway. I do have it leveled and 295/70/18’s on it though. That made a huge difference than when I had the stock tires on it.

I drive the speed limit too, but only average about 13-14. Mind you the speed limits where I live are 75-80 on the highway lol

When my truck was new (read: no lift, small tires), I would get 18-20 mpgs on the interstate in the summer.
Those days are gone. I pull 14-16 on the interstate these days.

I don't know about below, but I was putting along at a leisure pace, just being easy on the gas. My truck is stock though, no mods at all.

The CEO of Toyota said on an interview on Bloomberg 100% of their line will have a hybrid or electric offering by 2025

Didn’t read the thread all the way through before I posted , but the CEO said this on Bloomberg the other day at the Detroit auto show.

I think I've read this somewhere as well. Not a huge surprise in my mind. We all just don't know in what form the progression is going to take and how it may affect our purchases in the future.

Yeah - offroading, ranching, forest rangers, etc, etc etc. Wouldn't work for all situations.

Yep. I average around 8K or less. Have had my Tunny since April 2014. I have 95.6K miles. That's nothing on truck almost 12yrs old. ....and only a few annoying nannies that I can shut down.
