I don't recall. I took the truck over the scales a couple of months ago with a full tank of fuel and with just me in it and my payload allowance was only 850lbs. 2020 SR5 DC 4X4 with just a bed mat, spray in liner and hard tonneau. My payload door sticker is 1320lbs. I laughed because my 2015 Camry has a higher payload.

If you weigh 200 lbs and your bed mat, tonneau and spray in liner each weigh 90 lbs, you're not far off.

Hate to say it get a 3/4 ton to really be safe. I feel tundras are intended to tow a 14-18’ trailer tt at most. If a toy hauler that’s a diff story with their notorious tongue weight.

i know ima catch alot of flak but i am just being honest. I don’t believe in altering the truck thinking itll add more capacity etc. i am not being bias i love my tundra and toyota brand.

Have to agree with @Redcon41318. If I had of known that we would not have our old Winnebago 1790 and upgrading to a 2401RG we would have gotten a 3/4 ton at the least. It just happened that we purchased the truck and had a tree fall on it and on the 1790 at the same time and Toyota was good to us on the price of a new one knowing we were getting an insurance settlement. Had not planned on getting the 2401RG as we were just going to go trailerless and replace the truck with another Tundra. After we did that the wife decided she wanted a larger trailer.

Hi Mauka up there in WA. I'm here in Idaho; same truck, looking for same Lance 2465(probably buy in Nov/Dec when dealers come back down to earth). I've had the same questions about towing that trailer, but the truck is nearly new, so can't see trading it for bigger yet. I'm hoping the towing experience will not be 'white knuckles' since we want to head south and stay in the trailer for a month at a time. I keep wondering if we should get the smaller Lance........ Thanks and be safe!

    [QUOTE

Lance sticker indicates cargo carrying capacity is 720lbs with factory options installed. We added 330-400lbs of gear, leaving room for another 300lbs. Again not much!

    QUOTE]

The Lance cargo capacity is calculated with water tanks full.. and water heater
thats 392 pounds with 40 gal water and a full water heater (7gal)

You go from a Tundra to 3/4 ton (get the 1 ton they ride identical to 3/4 ton, 3/4 ton derated on paper) you will have a RUDE awakening. Night and day difference. 3/4 Ton will rattle your teeth and you better have 100 feet to back it since it has a non-existent turning radius. Sure rolling down the freeway will be a joke, everything else will be miserable. It all comes down to what you do the most. 3-5 RV trips a year keep tundra, 20 trips a year may want to look at 1 ton. I just sold a 3/4 ton, no drive thrus, no parking garages, parallel parking nightmare, Ford has straight axle giving continuous steering feedback wear you out in 100 miles. I loathed that vehicle except when pulling boat to Florida once a year, oh that's right had to make deal with hotel since parking at Condo not big enough for F250.

Appreciate the great info. Wife and I just got back from a cross country trip, 5700 miles with our 2720 Trailmanor (about 4,200 lbs fully loaded, but very low profile. Hardly new it was there. Averaged about 13.3 for the trip. Looking at moving to a Lance 2375. Was wondering if you knew your approximate fuel mileage for the trip.

As for Tonneau, I had a roll-up on my RAM years ago, very light and definitely convenient. I never had to remove it to get full access to the bed, but it did leak some. With the Tundra, I've been very pleased with the Tyger T3 trifold. Think it weighs about 30 lbs, and doesn't let a drop of water in the bed.

I owned an Artic Fox, about the same length and weight of your Lance, and towed it with a GMC 3/4 ton with 6.6L Duramax. Never a worry about exceeding payload capacity or over stressing the drivetrain. Stopping was an issue though, so long downhills had to be taken very carefully...an engine brake (jake) would have helped a lot. One important thing that the 3/4 ton has over any half ton is free floating rear axles, and payload weight is on the axel housing and not transmitted to the axel bearing. If you break an axel in a 3/4 ton, you don’t risk loosing an entire wheel off the rig. Next time you park next to a 3/4 or one ton, check out the size of everything in the drivetrain, they’re built to handle payloads 4 or 5 times that of a Tundra. When you tow, and have precious family members in the cab, don’t get in a hurry, and maintain a lot of stopping distance between you and the guy in front of you. Be safe.
