I reviewed a study a few years back that drivers, especially when under the influence of intoxicants, are drawn towards flashing lights/strobes. This is why you see quite a few of those videos of drunks hitting LE vehicles at night when they already have someone stopped.

Yea, for sure with driving. People tend to drive in the direction they are looking.

Yeah... Nobody else has ever done a bright blue "fruity tropical color" at all. Besides you being full of shit on that point, who wants everything to be the same anyway?

The Toyota site has had a bunch of overhauling the last year or so. Might just be more of that kind of stuff that will take time to get the kinks worked out.

Will say generally full.size trucks are basically billboards of sheet metal. Any color great in small doses on a car can quickly turn into an overdose situation on a truck

I agree that many colors can, but with proper accents I can see them working.

Prime example, I don't like Solar Octane on the 4Runner because it's flares are color matched regardless of trim. There is nothing to break it up. Same color looked great on the Tundra and Tacoma in 2023.

Others I just don't like to varying degrees. Quicksand, Mudbath, Terra, and Lunar Rock come to mind, but all are not equal. I think Terra is awful in all forms. Quicksand and Mudbath are some I don't care for, but don't hate. Then you have Lunar Rock. I despised it on the 2.5 gen trucks. Absolutely hated it as much as I currently hate Terra, but on a 3rd gen I think it's a fine color and would have been okay owing it.

One old trend that used to be a standard on trucks is 2 tones. It allowed bright colors but the more neutral color prevented the OD situation.

About all you see now is black roofs now which is way over done now. Or the god awful black plastic cladding on the lower extremities

Last maker I remember doing it was Ford with the Super Duties. There was a bronze brown and silver 2 toner that looked very good together. Tricky to find combos that work. But any color that goes well with a silver looks good in 2 tone. White automatically means retro.

Not a fan of colors that make the Tundra look less expensive or less tough then the price tag that goes with it. If you can afford it then you can put whatever color you like on it, it is your truck, but doesn't mean it actually looks good. Agree with all that said it looks feminine.

Wave Maker was removed from the configurator yesterday... A week or two ago they announced (to dealers) that all of the first round of Wave Maker Tundra allocations would instead be a different color due to paint shortages (IIRC)... A source with apparently insider information on FB stated it was in fact due to issues with the paint process. The other part of that update posted yesterday (again, not from Toyota) said that production of the color was expected to commence in November now

Interesting. I wonder what's the issue with paint process. Does it show blemishes better than other colors?

I wonder if it is a picky color to spray, like Solar Octane...

If the factory can't get it right, imagine the fun a local body shop would have.

Not sure what you were actually trying to say with the typos.

I watched the video, and though it's all for clicks, I will say the vinyl wrap held up pretty well. Looks like it was a better than average install, too. It was under the door handles and such, so parts were definitely removed to get the wrap on in the first place. If it weren't so expensive I would definitely wrap my truck. It's just cheaper to get paint fixed, though.

Or you can just keep your 2021 and repaint to that new color so you don’t sacrifice reliability. Imagine that.

While I would prefer my 2.5 gen, saying that you sacrifice reliability moving to a 3rd gen is a bit too chicken little. Yes, there could be a failure, but odds are low.

Small comfort to those who have had failures, but it's important to keep perspective and not be exaggerative.
