    Price gouging at it's finest.
I just paid $32,500 OTD for my 2018 TRD Off Road in immaculate condition, one-owner with 10,200 miles this past summer. Its a double cab, not a crewmax, but still..
Unless the market has really gotten that out of control.. that's absolutely effing insane for that used truck IMO. You can get a brand new one for around the same exact price from what I've been seeing with (possibly) cheaper Toyota financing, new warranty, toyotacare, etc.. Out of their god damned minds.

There's a thread specifically dedicated to what people have been paying for their trucks for a better idea..

I paid $47k for a new 2020 Platinum with 6 miles. I would walk from the dealer absent a major price reduction ($8-10K) or buy new. I am a strong advocate for buying used BUT with Toyota the value stays high enough that buying new is not as bad as the immediate 20% hit when you drive it off the lot.

Are there differences in options from the '20s to the '21s?

For a platinum trim level? For my area (Ohio) for a new SR5 Crewmax TRD Sport or Offroad, MSRP is around 48k (Pretty well equip), with incentives around $2,000 - $2,500k off making it $45.5k without TT. A platinum or TRD Pro range is 56k with incentives around 2k making it $54k without TT.

@borntostun only difference between a 20 and 21 are a couple more exterior color options, zero mechanical difference.

I am also thinking I can cut some serious cost for things I can add later that aren't stock, I can get for a better price and it will look better. These are also some suggestions provided in this thread from some of you. But I still want either the sport or offroad package, comes with the TRD skid plates and upgraded suspension.

    Steps
    Console Vault
    Bed liner
sway bars (If I opt for the offroad) Found those online actually pretty inexpensive.

Yes Josh for a Platinum (plus made them install TRD dual exhaust) - but that was early COVID (Apr/May) and dealers were concerned with being stuck holding inventory. Dealers were looking to dump their inventory at that point and as they say cash talks. I also bypassed the sales force and dealt directly with the GM.

@French Avocado Probably would've been a prime time to purchase, good on you for taking advantage. obviously hoping for some better incentives to roll around, time will tell with the 2021 and the new 2022 specs.

That’s what people thought this Nov also and prices were absurdly higher than normal. Yes, I know there were issues due to global pandemics, but these trucks are sadly never a lot less. I hope they are though and you are correct because I will go get another one and just keep it in storage for years then at some point pull the parachute cover off it in the old garage and say “see this kids, this is a Veeeeeeeeee8!”

You should go get a 2020 pro and do that. It will be worth the most.

I did it! Bought my first Tundra, 2018 4x4 Off-Road MGM. Only 21k miles on it and it was in prime condition. It was a hard choice between going for a brand new 2021 or a 2018, I feel I made the right choice and 10k off the price tag really persuaded me.

Makes a good pair with the tacoma.

Congrats and especially on the great deal. Used is awesome. Just change the oil and you can get +200k miles out of it. You give your cars names?
