Once again I apologize for my ignorance but are bump stop extensions included in the Readylift 3/1 kit or do I need to purchase them separately?
Since my tires are brand new, lets say that I held off about a year on getting bigger tires and only installed the Ready lift 3/1 kit. Approx. how much additional ground clearance would this add? Stock tires are P275/65R18. Thanks

FWIW, I went back and forth on leveling vs. a full suspension upgrade, and decided to just do Bilstein 5100s all around. I'm on the pavement 90% of the time. The other 10% is nothing more than two tracks and mountain roads. No serious offroading. I will set the front in the middle, and leave the rear alone. They're in the mail as we speak so I will update once I get them installed.

FYI - you can probably get Billy 5100's for around $700 installed.

I looked at this yesterday and the kit unfortunately does not come with bump stop extensions. I did find these though and will probably buy. Also be careful of other bump stop extensions because they don't have the same type of screw that the tundra has (metric vs standard).

So these would work for 2018 off road with Bilstein shocks?

Bump stop extensions?!?!? Never heard that. Sounds cheap and pointless.

DUDE..... Use Bilstein 5100's up front on the top setting. You can add an after market shackle from toytec that gives you two height options for the rear if you want to maintain some rake. The shocks and shackles will have you right at about the same price as a block lift if not a fraction more. And for God's sake DON'T DO A BLOCK LIFT. :facepalm:The ride quality will be WAY BETTER! I had a 3/1 Block lift on my 1st Tundra and it rode like SHIT compared to suspension. After you get larger tires (with the 5100's) you will be at 3" total height gain!!! Don't make the same mistake I did.:poking:

Here is my second Tundra with Bilstein up front and 2 1/2 inch lift in the rear (add-a-leaf and toytec shackle @ 1" setting).........The bilsteins here are the 6112 and more money than you want to spend but a 5100 up front on the top setting will only be .5" lower..... The ride quality was WAY BETTER..... hope this helps

Why did you decide to go with the Bilstein 5100s? I just got 2013 TRD Off-Road and I want to swap the stock tires for 275/70/18 KO2s. I think I want to add a 1.5" level to the front (no change in rear) while I'm at it. What are the pros and cons of 5100s vs 1.5" spacer?

Hi everyone. Since my last post I have done additional research after reading all the feedback I got. As I previously stated,

I am interested in adding an additional 2-3 ground clearance to the truck. I have never had any experience with doing this and my knowledge is extremely limited on this matter except for the recent research I have done. I have not interest in putting on a enormous lift kit with larger wheels and tires and was instead going to get a leveling kit and add larger tires. My current tire size is 255/70r18.

While reading the responses to my initial post, I ran across something called ReadyLIFT 69-5175. This definitely looks like something that I would like and was curious what everyone thought regarding using this instead of a leveling kit? I was wondering how much additional ground clearance I would gain from installing the

ReadyLIFT 69-5175 and going from current tire size of 255/70r18 up to 285/75r18?

Once again, I apologize for my ignorance as these questions probably seem like basic knowledge to the members here. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

A 285/85R18 has a diameter of 34.8 inches, a 255/70R18 tire has a diameter of 32.1 inches. 34.8 - 32.1 is 2.7, divided by two (because the other half of the size increase is up under the wheel well) is going to be about one and a third inches of increased ground clearance. You'll also see additional clearance in areas like the bumpers, and will probably notice a decrease in acceleration and gas mileage from the larger tires.

Does anyone know a company that makes a leveling kit for the TRD pros? A lot of companies that make leveling kits, are specifically not for TRD pros and warriors. Been looking around for a really long time, but having a hard time finding a leveling kit for my TRD pro. Help.

Ok. This may be an older thread and I have been searching and reading to exhaustion on the dreaded “spacer” lift and the horrific images of that same, piss ant yellow shock/strut on every site or forum. Did that come from a moped? If your shocks look like that, without the fail and bend as shown in that picture, you have shit on your truck. That’s a number 2 pencil jammed in the ass of a coke can. Who actually has that shitty little thing on their truck to begin with?? I joined this group just to vent. All the “chest thumpers “ trying to convince you that a spacer is bad just so that they can feel better about over-spending on their shit should not push you one way or the other. If you plan on ramping your truck and smashing down like a asteroid, go with something else. Almost everyone I know has huge spacer lifts, run their shit through all hell and never have problems. I put a tiny 2” front on my street queen and it rides/drives same as stock. But my stock shocks/struts are 3x thicker than the little yellow pencil that some keep posting over and over like in this thread. Plus mine taper at the very bottom, not a straight and drastic change in diameter like that turd. That puny shit would cave without a spacer if you even spit on it. Come on. Sick of all the bullshit and that image being the “evidence” of why a small spacer is bad. I’ve had bicycles with more meat than that shitty little yellow fuck. Rant over. Damn.

How was the ride after this install? I'm racking my brain and on this forum a bunch. I can't decide between 5100s middle setting with 1 CB shim on each Side to get 2" or 6112s at 1.9, nothing in the back for now. Will eventually put new ones on the back. I want it level. It's a 2WD, no off-roading at all.

Ride quality is very subjective but for me the ride with the 5100s is better than with the stock TRD shocks. There is not much difference between the OEM TRD shocks and the 5100s so I was not expecting a dramatic change.

With the shocks set to the middle and 1 shim on each side I was level with the back. Anytime I carried anything I was nose high so I ended up installing ToyTech shackles set at 1".

Some things to consider: It looks like you have a '19. My understanding is that the TSS needs to have some rake so if you are dead-level you may have issues with TSS. Also, 2WDs are lighter up front than 4x4s so it is possible that 5100's on the middle (or 6112's on the 3rd) setting will give you more lift.

Thanks for the reply. I'd like to do the 6112s @1.9 but the price difference from 5100s to 6112s is quite a bit. I already purchased a 2" Billet Aluminum Strus Spacer kit from Supreme Suspensions but that was prior to joining this forum and doing more research. It's a decision I need to make. Im waiting on my Method MR312 18x9 +18 wheels from 4wp, they were backordered. Hope to get them soon. But hopefully I can get a good deal on whichever Bilstein I choose on Black Friday or Cyber Monday.
