Is that thing 2WD? I see what looks like a front diff, but it appears to be bluetooth connected if functional

I've always been impressed, my never serviced A/C still blows 42 F air, after 22 years. It must say something about Toyota's dedication to making a good product.

That's it right there, the circle, up under the cab, in the top of the tank.

So yeah it doesn't look like you can swap the pump unless you lower the tank. Bummer.

Am I crazy or does it look like the strap near the crossmember is about to rip?

I was just about to tell you: Now's the time to run that backup camera wiring :D

Truck looks good - FYI, if you want to get rid of the clear bra on the rear fender flares, Here's how how I did mine.

The strap supports the tank from underneath. Both of his look new, no doubt part of the chassis replacement. I think what you're looking at is where the tank meets the cross member. There's some rubbery stuff that isolates the tank from the cross member, both to prevent chafing and deaden the sound. In this case it looks like roofing shingles rather than the factory rubber

I notice the filler neck surround/housing is pretty rusted to hell also. I don't think I realized there was that much metal up there.

Yeah you can't. Not on an AC truck

Toyota had a recall about gas tank straps rusting through as well IIRC

It may have been lumped into another recall but....

Looks like it was part of a service campaign that expired: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2016/MC-10134289-9999.pdf

EDIT: Wait, naw, that's part of the frame stuff.
EDI2: Naw, it covers the straps also.

Didn't your Pops use a ratchet strap to hold up the tank on Silver for a while? :D

I got those metal parts around the filler neck from the rust free truck. Ive since replaced those after taking the picture

I took the fender flairs, mud flaps and trim off the old bed. Look how bad the wheel wells were!
I'm happy with the new bed...
