Hey folks! I'm new to Tundras, and recently picked up my 2001 SR5 Access Cab (4.7L V8 4x4) with 120k on the clock. I'm absolutely in love with this thing, and I'm going to be making it my daily driver. It was meticulously maintained by my uncle with all service records, and rides like a dream especially given its age. There is some rust underneath from Virginia winters, but I had a mechanic buddy put it up on a lift and he didn't seem too concerned. Some suspension/control arms/struts stuff will likely need replacing before too long. I'm not super knowledgable about vehicles since I never had anyone to teach me and never had the time to learn much -but I'm trying to change that.

Currently using this forum to research common problems and upgrades, and have found some great info so far. Would really like to try doing what I can myself to the truck (or at least develop a better working knowledge of the things that I might need done).

Look forward to learning a lot here!

All it takes is the right amount of rust around the spare tire crossmember and it may qualify for a new frame under the Toyota recall.

This is a good thread to really look through too.
