You have a CM. You can recess mount the amps into the bottom more to hide wiring

Looks good. I like the idea of the external port. How many sq.in. of port do you have? I have 4 skar 6.5's I'm going to install sometime.

Its 24 in^2. 12 per cubic foot, right in the standard range.

4 6.5s should really sound great. Great response, with the ability to still get low depending on where you tune it.

Can't wait to hear your impressions on how it sounds and how low it gets. I was thinking something similar with the port under the middle seat. I don't want to take up all my "storage" space so I plan to use just one JL Audio 10TW1 with a 250/1v2 amp. I assume sound deadening is key, yours looks great.

Alright. Yours should sound pretty good. I originally got the 6.5's for my DC to replace the Sundown 8's I had. Never got to it. I'm debating on if I want to remove all the foam under the seat for more space. Thought about making a rear center console for air space too. I like alot of bass.

it would be complicated, but if you took the time to pull it off you could get a decent amount of airspace if you took up the entire back plus where the foam is. a center console would be the easiest way to gain airspace but it does compromise passenger seating, i couldnt afford to do that.

I got it going late last night. It sounds great! It get louder than i was expecting. Sounds great throughout most of the frequency range. Didnt quite hit the 25-35 hz as cleanly as i would like at mid-high volumes, but that is expected from a ported box at one 1 cubic foot per sub. I didnt really get a chance to tune anything or even clean up my wires so i have a 3 hours this afternoon to tinker with it. Im hoping some tuning can clean up the lower frequency response.

the got it running with the seats out. Then when i put the seats in, it baffled the sound a little. It wasnt as in-your-face loud, so im assuming i lost some decibels, but the port facing forward was still crystal clear and loud.

What sound deadening did you use?

Noico. Only matted the roof and back wall. Doing the doors today.

im going to attempt to use poly batting to lower the response. Ive read success stories, but ive never tried it myself so we’ll see. Its an inexpensive trial so why not

    Update: it sounds great!!!

I added about half a bag of poly fil, and used poly batting as a barrier to keep the loose stuff from shooting out the port. I know theres mixed reviews on whether or not polyfil actually works, but it sure made a difference for me.

It’ll never hit like my sequoia (2 15s in a 10 cubic foot box tuned to 28hz), but i couldnt really ask more out of this bass setup. Cost me under $450 for the subs, amp, materials, wiring... and it sounds freaking sweet. The port shooting out the front really helps the sound fill the cabin.
