New style wireless charger

Alright fellas I’m sold. Order placed!

 

Install went very easy. So far I’m impressed with the strength of the magnet and the charge speed. In a quick run for some food the charge on my phone went from 38 to 48 in about 10/15 minutes. So far seems way faster than the OEM charger

 

Product seems of good quality. Charges my pixel phone just fine. Also, the plastic is less prone to scratching.

 

Looks good, mine comes in tomorrow!

 

Finally had some time to install. Overall looks solid. Packaging was great, I think the OEM just came in a box if I remember correctly. This one has a nice box with foam all around.Only did a small drive last night and worked well. Did not disconnect itself and stays put on bumpy roads or when opening the lid. It’s nice not having that bright green light on at night. Time will tell on this but so far so good

 

Installed mine today. Thanks to OP for bringing this charger to my attention. With it and a wireless car play adapter it feels like a modern truck.

Can anyone tell me if it comes with the wiring necessary to install this in the arm rest if your model doesn't currently have the charger already in the arm rest? I couldn't find that anywhere in the Ebay description.

 

It wires into the charging port on the rear of the arm rest. As long as you have that port it’s direct plug and play

 

Looks nice.
I have the OEM console charger but considering this one.
OEM the phone gets too hot, the light is always on unless you turn it off, and the phone doesn't stay in place.

Does this one emit any light at all?

No light at all, the light was too bright for my liking but once I upgraded to iPhone 14pro phone wouldn’t stay in place

After having both the oem and the new ebay, here is what i would say. The new one looks nicer, holds the phone in place tightly with the magnet and doesn't emit any light. The OEM did not hold the phone in place, was inconsistent in charging as it had to be aligned perfectly and had no magnet to hold it in place. They both charge relatively slowly bit at least the ebay one charges consistently. I wouldn't hesitate to use the ebay one over the OEM. I gave my OEM one away

 

The magnet on that seems to be flush with the tray; the other one linked has a raised magnet....not sure that would make a difference

 

i don’t think that one is MagSafe meaning won’t hold the phone in place with the magnet. I think you would have same issue like the OEM one because the new iPhone camera sticks out, won’t sit flat and cause charging issues

 

I just ordered one.
The case on my iPhone 15 pro allows it to lie flat, but as others stated, the phone has to be in the exact spot to charge on the OEM.
If it moves, it stops charging.
I also don't like having to turn the OEM off at night because the green lights get on my nerves..
Hopefully being the phone is 'on top' of the magnet mount, it won't get too damn hot.

You may be correct. The eBay info says magnectic attraction, no slip though.

Installed mine today..
Pretty easy since I installed the OEM part.

I like it.
Goes right in place and starts charging.
Time will tell if it gets hot like the old one...

 

Still debating if I need one of these and Just wondering if anyone has experienced any issues with the new style to date?

 

I've had mine installed for several months now with zero issue.

 

No issues going into 4 months now. The silver ring on the MagSafe did started peeling a bit but I feel it’s from my dog putting its paws in that area at times.

 

I’ve had mine for a couple of months now as well. 1000 times better than the oem. Very good find OP

 

Does anyone have any negatives about this charger? Phones get too hot or anything like that ?

 

I’ve been using it for a few months. My iPhone barely gets warm and charges quickly. With a magnetic case it stays put even when I lift the console lid.
