Trying convince myself why keeping my 2018 limited that is almost paid off is a better option than 2021 TRD PRO sitting on the lot.20210328_113352.jpg 20200913_182921.jpg

How would the TRD change your payment schedule?

I'm all about paying it off as quick as possible and keeping for as long as possible.

I would not sell my 2018 for a 2021. Why would you? And it's almost paid off, keep it.

you only live once. Also if you live in the salt belt, 3 years isn’t a lot but does take a toll. the difference in price between the 2 might not be that much. It’s a choice you’ll have to make.

If you sell your '18 for the '21 you have to turn in your complimentary "transmission cooler club" jacket. Not worth it.

Keep the 18, pay off, dethrone everything. I really like your color truck plus very few upgrades to the 21 from yours

I personally would keep the 18.
    Almost paid off
Not gaining much with the new truck
Wouldn't have to re-spend money on lift, wheels, tires, or anything else to make it yours

I do get the draw to a new vehicle though. I would sit on it for a month and if you still want it and can financially make it worth then it's your money and your choice.

pay off the '18, then escrow your payment amount into a savings account for the next couple of years, then trade in the '18 for the next one and pay cash. Or just drive the '18 into the ground for 20 more years and enjoy the freed up cash... just my way of thinking.

Only if you come out of it with a paid off new truck. WITH a transmission cooler.

I went through this about 6 months ago. I had one bad ass 2013 DC with 97K and a 4.6 that I had paid off, lifted, modded with all kinds of toys. Alot of guys here said keep it, its paid for. We bought a TT so I stripped and sold it and bought a 2020 and upgraded to the 5.7. In all honesty, I did the upgrade for the engine and safety systems as I have kids.

Your situation would be a lateral move as their isn't much difference between your truck and the Pro. Its funny how alot of guys spend the extra money for the Pro, and then rip it apart and replace the suspension when they get home. I read an article recently that the SR5 is the best dollar value when it comes to a purchase of a Tunda. Its the good foundation to make your own build from. You have a rare color and a nice truck. There are alot of Tundras here in Tampa, and I have only seen 1 in your color. I say keep it, protect that paint, and put some toys on it.

Buy a pro suspension on FB Marketplace and wheels for your 18. That's about the same a TTL, and essentially the same truck.

Keep the 2018 and wait for the 2024 Pro. Sell the 2018 in 2024 to someone who has to have the 5.7 and profit.

This /\/\/\/\ PAID OFF? No payment beats what is essentially the same truck by a mile. When it's paid, save that payment you'd be looking at on the 21' for a few years, sell the 18' at it's awesome resale value and then buy a new one for almost or totally PAID OFF. No payment = Freedom from the damn bank!

Thanks for the input, the more i thought about it, the better off I am keeping my 2018. Almost paid off, "Transmission cooler", and once it is paid off, will be heading towards being debt free totally within another year or two. Kinda fell for look the black pro while being aggravated waiting on dealership to replace C/V Axle on mine. But it is covered under warranty so patience and money wins out over more debt.

My 2020 AG 4runner Pro is paid for but what I’m getting for it almost what I paid I won’t need to put out much for my 2021 LunaRock tundra pro. You only live once. Also the other reason for me my wife has a Acura RDX no need to have 2 SUV’s.

Good call to keep that ‘18. Think of how much better it will feel to have your truck paid off vs taking several thousand steps backward away from that goal.

That Pro would make me think twice as well about trading in my '18. I dont tow so I dont need a transmission cooler. How much it would cost me to trade would be the only factor.
