I have just finished a major rebuild of a 14 Tundra Crew Max. The car came from Baton Rouge and was driven into water and blew up the motor plus had 4-8 inches of water inside the car. I can share advice or info for anyone looking to change a motor or trans etc. I addition I am looking for a JBL amp for the vehicle. It is the 3 plug unit under the passenger seat.

Did the truck get water damage during the flood back in August?

If so, I'd be careful with the water damage, water was basically sewage water due to backflow in the bayous and incidentially...the sewer pipes.

yes, i spoke to the original owner, he had just traded it to the Toyota dealer there 2 weeks before the big storms hit. the water came up to the bottom of the dash. I brought all of the electrical back to life.

i wish i could figure out who the U-Boat captain was. Not very smart, must have driven it in, stalled it and attempted to restart it. Water doesn't compress very well.

Well sometimes you can't even see the water. I've had that happen to me before. Luckily it was just about 7 inches of water. Not always the cap'n's fault...shit happens. Not to say it couldn't have been on account of stupidity like running off into a ditch while driving through flooded streets. We got some deep ones.

A TON of areas that NEVER flood were under 1-6 feet of water.

i don't think it was under that far. As a point of interest. Wurth makes a product called Contact Cleaner OL, my Volvo mechanic suggested I use it. I pulled all electrical connections apart, sprayed the contacts and let it sit for about a minute and blew the excess out. Replugged everything and it all came to life. it rubs and cleans the contacts

Does it have a salvage title now? Hope it all works out for you, I've always been told to run from flood damaged cars as electrical issues will continue to pop up for years.
