    I've been a member of the group for about a month now and just last week I finally purchased my first Tundra CrewMax. Sadly, I had to get rid of my 4Runner with 289k miles but it was time for some change. Above is the Tundra I purchased and I am looking for help draining my wallet on some mods. I do have some questions for the group so feel free to leave responses or even links to other forums that I could reference!!

    1. I'm looking to blackout the badging. Recommendations on blackout overlay and TUNDRA insert for my tailgate. What product works the best. I live in western NY and our winters are brutal I need something that will last.

    2. Recommendations on radio antenna that's a shorty that will not compromise radio reception.

    3. I have seen a bunch of posts on using Headlight Revolution (HR) products for LED upgrades. I am looking to do the interior of the truck LED. From what I have seen these are the best choice, are they any others that folks have used that they like better?

    4. Headlights - are the '18 worth the $$$$$ or does any recommend just an LED buld upgrade. I like the idea of having an LED "running light" during the day.

    5. Taillights - I am bouncing between complete replacement vs. LED bulb insert. I have seen a bunch of people swap out their taillights for Spyder brand taillights. I'd like to see pics if anyone has them. And I've also seen people just drop in LED bulbs to the current housing.

    5. Fog light conversion to LED - HR brand?? if so which ones?

    1. I'm looking to blackout the badging. Recommendations on blackout overlay and TUNDRA insert for my tailgate. What product works the best. I live in western NY and our winters are brutal I need something that will last.

    A. Debadge with 20lb fishing line, use Whizzy Wheel on a cordless drill to remove the glue, GooGone spray. I bought a black badge kit off eBay, came with 3M tape.

    2. Recommendations on radio antenna that's a shorty that will not compromise radio reception.

    A. This is the best short mast https://www.theantennasource.com/TOYOTA/TUNDRA/Tundra 2015-2018.html#1C However nothing beats the original tall spiral antenna that also serves as a clearance checker. I usually put it back on when we go camping.

    A. YES 100% worth it, the DRL's are super bright, one of my fave upgrades. If you honeycomb the grill, you basically have a 2018 clone

    A. I did not do those, again VLEDS or HR. I only replaced my reverse bulbs with Amazon specials

    3) Got the floor panel VLEDS on order myself.

    4) Got those on order too.

    5) I've had problems with Spyder on my BMW so I'm reluctant to buy them again (although I do like them). Winjet has apparently had moisture issues and failures as well. I'm kinda in the same boat you are on this one.

    6) Haven't figured out my own bumpers/grille/fog light/light bar situation just yet either.

    I looked at aftermarket rear housings like Spyder/Recon/Winjet for a long time and the fit/reliability issues scared me away. Some peeps have no problems, ymmv. The set it and forget option is to just replace bulbs with quality LEDs+resistor in the OEM housings. There's also a few threads about Retrofit headlight problems, it's hard to beat OEM 2018 LED headlights. OP, you'll need an iHacker harness to make them work.

    2 options of you are wanting to keep the badges.... the overlays or plastidip. Both look good inn my opinion.

    Not sure....i still have the stock antenna

    I'm saving up for the 18 headlights.... heard great things about them!

    I have the Spyder taillights.... I'm thinking i like the Winjet look better. Spyders aren't bad at all and fit well.

    Welcome to the forum and congrats on the new truck.

    For the fogs I would recommend Baja Designs kit for our truck if you live in rural area and it isn't a big pain to turn them off with oncoming traffic. I did an install DIY on them when I installed them on my truck. I love them. They aren't DOT approved, but with the wide cornering lenses they don't aim too high, but they are bright.

    If you want something DOT approved the Rigid SAE fogs with the new TRD Pro pockets (when they come out) would probably be a good pick.
