Just found the forum. Bought my '02 Tundra SR5 4X4 in '03 with 17,000 miles (cost $17,000). Currently has 206,000 miles. Still gets 17 mpg avg. Uses one quart every 5,000 miles and finally had to switch to 20W50 to keep my oil pressure up to normal range. One new radiator and normal maintenance is all it has cost in 189,000 miles. Has towed over 30,000 miles with average trailer weight of 6,000 lbs and averaged 11 mpg. It has never let me down. Really disappointed the new Tundras can't improve on these statistics.

And this is with 206,000 miles. Not babied but well maintained. A friend of mine has been after me for two years to sell it to him. All advisors tell you never sell a vehicle to family or friend.

Welcome from NW Arkansas! I've also heard the same thing about selling a vehicle to either a family member or friend.

What kind of mileage should I expect before a major failure would not be a surprise. New timing belt 25,000 miles ago and I feel it should be good to go for a lot more miles. Never a collision and no rust.
