Its a contractors special. Big aluminum service body, 278k. Retiring last year from daily abuse, but too functional to get rid of. When I learn how images work here I'll post a pic.

My dad bought it fresh off the lot in 04, had an 8' aluminum box from his previous dodge adapted to fit before mile 50. now he's retiring and doesn't need it daily, but he wants a travel tool truck. So up to me to figure out how to make it convert to his new lifestyle. Problem is, I cant really tell him the abused parts at 278k are ready for adventure and reliability at the same time. As an owner of many toyotas from 77-05 production dates, I can see he wasn't so nice to this truck. But it leaks nothing, shifts great, and has never left him stranded. We'll get it up to speed. But, I may need your help, as I am new to Tundras and I am really new to all the cheap chop mods he had people do to this truck. Let's getter fixed.

I don't want to learn that way on my pop's 278k trans with zero previous care, and be responsible for the outcome.

I live and work near him now so I can help more, but for the first 250k I really wasn't involved with what he did to it. I think he thought it was indestructibly a Toyota. But now he realizes he really coulda got 15 more years if he treated better. I am aiming for 10 years at infrequent use for the things an old man needs, he is aiming to use it on 2 ton lumber hauls, on the racks 1500 lbs at a time, or trailered 2.5 tons at a time. From lumber mills 1000 miles away.

So a response from an Mgm, is that a paint code? I'd like to know my paint label/code how do I find that without papers from the dealer? It's that less than navy more than ford blue. Is it on the vin? Hell what else can I learn from the vin? am I sittin on a tow package? there is a aux trans cooler lookin stock between a/c and rad, but the trailer wiring is spliced to some cheapo spliced buts that spark when you hit the brakes.

I realize the trend will be toward 20" wheels or $600 UCAs, or classic undriven bone stockers. Will a workman's truck fit in here without $800 chinese alloy rims?
