New here. Stumbled across this site doing Tundra research at 2am while my kid was refusing to sleep. Seems like a good find so far, so can't be too mad at him.

Drive a '07 4Runner now, but thinking really hard about stepping up to a Tundra. Got my eye on a 2018 SR5 XSP. What do you guys think?

Welcome from Colorado. Would be a nice trade up from a 4R.

Guess I should have gave more info. From Alabama (War Eagle!). Retired biologist turned stay at home dad/Mr. Mom, however you want to say it.
Don't know a lot about cars/trucks other than how to drive one. May lean on you all for help if needed. Already eyed some custom mods I'd like to do in one of the other forums.

I think a Tundra is a good choice with a lot more room over the 4Runner. What's the markup on the XSP package?

XSP package and SR5 Upgrade pack pushed MSRP to $48k. Not sure the exact breakdown off the top of my head. They've quoted me 45 OTD.

Breakdown I believe for the XSP is the wheels and tires, fender flares, badging, bed liner, red calipers and running boards.

Yes. Black overlays and exhaust tips too. It's 5k markup on MSRP for the XSP pack. This one has the deck rail system and cargo LED's as well. It's a 4x4 5.7 FFV.

The deck rail system is nice to have. Makes mounting stuff and tying crap down a lot more easier.

IMO.. if you're looking to spend that range look at the platinums. The cosmetic package is pretty meh.. the more time you spend on here the more you're going to want to change out those things to customize it to your liking.

    Welcome to the site.

You really can’t go wrong with a Tundra. These are trucks you can drive every day for years and just not worry about anything. Tires, scheduled maintenance, and gas.

Picking it up in the morning. Got them to throw in the center console lockbox. First mod to shoot for? Remote start?

I bought my wife a 16 4Runner last year. I loved driving it on the weekends. Thought it was the best. I bought myself a 17 Tundra this year. Now I hardly ever get in the 4Runner and when I do I’m like man it’s a tight fit in here. I’m a big guy. I love the room in my Tundra. Welcome from Tennessee!

Congrats, sharp truck! You’re going to love the Tundra...except when it’s time to fill it up...lol. First mod? Swap the chrome bumper ends for color matched or just have yours powder coated.
