This was the just the thread I was a looking for and about to pull the trigger on these. Was between these and the Durtracks that came on the 19 TSS. The difference is about $25 cheaper per tire right now too.

Just pulled the trigger and having them installed now. Can’t wait to see the difference and the height difference over stock.

    We need pictures!!!
I have this size in my Amazon wish list. Looks like they are $225 a tire after tax and my 5% cash back with their Visa card.
Plus another $25 a tire to mount and balance.

I have maybe 11k miles on my tires so I need to wait. Not sure how long I will be able to hold out.

Ok guys I’m the OP, I’m about two weeks in, I’ve been on loose gravel roads they are fantastic and they should be, I’ve driven in 2 major rain storms on the expressway I didn’t feel loose once. The road noise is a little more noticeable then my original stock mich but for the trade off of the looks I’m good! 1000miles and I’m still happy as hell

Currently building out the son’s new ‘21 Tacoma Sport. Just had these Rugged Treks put on today.

    • 265/70R17
    • XL rated, 45lbs each
    • Summary: They ride smooth and are quite. There is a slight hum that is equivalent to the hum of the Toyo AT III that I run on my Tundra.

I agree. They are similar in characteristics to the Mickey Thompson ATZ tire. Being that they are in the same family, I can see that they shared designs. Personally I think the Rugged Trek may replace the STT Max because when I was on the Cooper site, The STT Max was not listed in the truck tire category.

I've been going back and forth between these and the Cooper AT3 XLT. Still can't decide. I want a smooth, quiet ride, although I know these aren't road tires and therefore won't be a quiet as the stock Bridgestone's on my 2021 Platinum.

Question....I'm looking at the Fuel Vectors or the tactics. Both are a 18x9 wheel. The XLT in 275/70/R18 is for wheels that are 7-8.5 in size. The Rugged Trek's are a bit taller (which I like), but are for wheel width size 7-9. Will the XLT still run on a 9 inch width tire or would I be better off with the Rugged Trek?

I would stick to the listed specs of each tire. If the XLT states only to a 8.5” wheel, I would not put it on a 9” wheel.

How bad did these tires kill your gas mileage? I’m currently running some whooped toyo at2’s 275/65/18. I plan on going up to a 275/70-18 but I don’t want to ruin my gas mileage. I get 16 mpg currently

I am currently running BFG K02 at LT285/55R20. They are D rated tires.
The Cooper Discoverer Rugged Trek at this size are E rated. I am concerned that the ride will get rougher on the rugged trek over the KO2.
Rugged Trek is available at 275/60R20 (not LT) which will be a bit taller (~0.5") and narrower, but the are only SL rated. Not sure SL rated tires will stand up to use on a Tundra, especially towing.
Hopefully they will have more sizes/load rating options once they have been out a bit longer.
