A buddy of mine who works at the Tundra plant in San Antonio said there will be two new colors for the 2018 Tundra. Root beer and Calvert blue. Should see some of the new models released as soon September or October. I'm anxious to see the new headlights. I still can't believe Toyota hasn't done a projector headlight on the Tundra yet. Paint codes 4X4 and 8W2. My system is calling 4X4 Vintage Brown Pearl. I'm interested to see what it looks like. :)

I've heard the new brown is nice but I haven't seen it yet.

Just curious are these additional colors or replacing any existing colors?

I reviewed the drawings and the new TGNA electrical structure for 2018 is not compatible with previous gen. Connectors are different, Pinout is different, and control is a tiny bit different.

Gonna try and see if I can still make them work though...

Please let me know if you can make it work. I've got a buddy wanting to do the 2018 headlights on his 2015 Tundra.

keep us informed with your findings. Hindsight is telling me I should have waited for the 2018 Tundras first the TRD PRO grille debacle now this. Though I certainly did not want all the added electronics beyond these lights.

    I'll do my best.

There isn't anything added in particular except for TSS. So tundra gets milimeter wave radar cruise, lane keep assist, BSM, and PCS. Everything else should be the same. TGNA electrical structure is different, meaning we are just updating to commonize parts.

Sorry for the thread jack... back on topic now.

I've always thought that the brown on the 1794's looked like Root Beer. I don't know what it's actually called , but that's what I think of everytime I see one. While I think it is a beautiful color (for brown), It isn't one of my top color choices.

Good question. I'm not really sure. All of the paint codes are still in the system.

I love the exterior brown on the 1794. I HATE the brown interior though. I get that they wanted it lighter, but looks too caramel. I wish it was a darker saddle brown. On the other hand, I'll probably never be able to afford one, so I guess it doesn't matter, ha.

New Tundra stuff is great, no matter what it is. Looking forward to these new colors.
